Since I have just started back riding after a 4 year lay off I am not only out of touch with reality but also with the hot set up on tires. Heck I can't even figure out the number system. What was wrong with a 300x21 and a 450 x 18?
Anyways we are riding off road mainly and I would prefer a tire that will last over one that provides maximum traction.
We have a pretty broad type of terrain here in Ga, with everything from sand to hard pack on the same trail most of the time.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Larry, if you haven't found one yet, there's good conversion charts over on the Maxxis site -

I second that. Great long-lasting REAR tire. I've used a couple on most of the mx tracks in MI, sand, hardpack, intermediate. It works well in everything great on intermediate terrain. However, I think the front tire sucks. Very skiddish. Pairing IT rear with ST front is better.

Older son just moved up to 125/250F, rode YZ85's for several years, little brother is on 85's now, and they both love Michelin Starcross, and I love their durability.
We've tried virtually every brand, and we always come back to Michelin.
Those things work well for offroad and loamy MX tracks, but if you have any hardpack they will start breaking knobs like crazy.

You had knobbies last time I was out...and 200cc's....and the home track advantage! I don't recall any "hurtin'"....
The longest wearing tires I've ever had were the Trelleborg tires. They are expensive and a real pain to mount, but they lasted forever.
