How pissed would you be if you got a little out of shape going over a jump and there is a photographer standing on the landing with his back to you?

Was this rider hurt at all? These types of accidents SHOULD NOT happen!!!

He wasnt on the landing. It was an accident. Accidents happen.

Harold Martin (publisher of MotoPlayground and The Pickle Motocross Illustrated) was hit from behind during the 450 open at Lake Whitney after doing some photography from the sidelines. He was not on the track but on his way back to the MotoPlayground set up. He is very safety conscientious and absolutely was not physically on the track but actually a fair distance from it. The bike that hit him went off course coming off the landing of the finish line tabletop right into the back of Harold. The injuries he sustained was a broken collarbone, shoulder, ribs, broken arm and hand and he also broke his leg and shattered his ankle and foot. He is in great spirits and looking forward to a speedy recovery.

I thought that the bike had no rider at the time of impact..

Harold was not on the track, he was off by 5 or 6 feet. The rider was OK, but he was really distraught by what happened. He didn't go down, but did immediately come back to check on him.
