Slayer crowds are scary - and I'm a metalhead! :D

Lombardo is the king, most Slayer tunes are cool (Seasons is my fave CD overall), but the solos are
pure shit.

Loved Tom's classy Grammy award speech recently, humble guy!

Carry on.....one more thing, Nirvana sucks.

[quote="volcati":2rxbkeil]It's really all relative. If you knew metal you would know that Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, Pear Jam music is pretty much all based in rock and roll, metal, and punk.

The world was ready for "regular guys" who they could relate to grabbing a guitar and making good emotional music--not technical shit that had no heart. Nor some guy made to look like a clown dressed in a lyrcra unitarded in debt, driving a leased Ferrari, and bragging about how much he drank...and great life was. I guess you related to that at the time??

I'll take hair metal over grunge anyday of the week. At least they could play their instruments.....

Slayer sucks. As do 99 % of the rest of those screaming noise makers that make up the death metal world.

I'll be damned near the front of the line this weekend for Iron Maiden tickets. Taking my kids and some of their friends.

If you think Hair Metal guitar playing is good and not contrived or derivative...you should really check out some other bands.

Let's see...Mike Mcready or Cece...wow...shoot, Dave Grohl or Warren DeMartini.....

Deep Purple was from England, Dipshit . I'll give you The Foo fighters. The best thing ever to happen to DG was KC blowing his brains out. Squirrel Spam ? Are you kidding me?

My favorite band from Seattle would have to be Modest Mouse or AIC. Two extremely different bands...but cool in their own way.

There's a great book out that documents Jane's Addiction and tons of antidotes by several Seattle musicians and they all talk about the HUGE influence Jane's had on their scene when they came through in 88 and 89. Supposedly...they all saw the light. Zep riffs and punk were the way to go.

I would say LA's Jane's Addiction, RHCP, and Thelonious Monster and even early GNR had a bigger influence on breaking the hair metal mold than any Seattle band.
