We stopped by Southside in Dayton, OH when we went to GSMXS. Ended up buying two bikes, one new and one ex-YOT race bike.

I bought my first Honda 450 there in '02. I drove up to get it thinking "it will be great to see this huge facility that Honday of Troy/Yamaha of Troy must be." It was a huge let down. I got a great deal on the bike but the shop is smaller than my local shop. It had about 40 or 50 bikes in it I think. The accessory shop wasn't very big either. I remember they had two or three racks of six or eight year old closeout stuff for sale. That's what stuck out in my mind.

The way I understand it, they are just another bike shop and all the catalogue and online stuff is done out of a large warehouse out back. Just a little heads up. Maybe it's changed by now but I doubt it.

I would NOT buy anything from YOT - several years ago, when they were HOT, I bought an Arai there as I was passing through. It was supposed to be shipped to me. After several weeks, I called and was told by the same guy that they couldn't get a deal like I had bought, but he did it in a way that implied that I was the one at fault. It took me SEVERAL months and SEVERAL phone calls to get my card credited - I finally ended up having to threaten them legally. I ate a few months of interest charges on that deal, but it was a small price to pay in order to be done with them.

Bob's and Torque Center on the other hand are both top notch places. I've been to both and have to say that they both gave me excellent customer service and both had well stocked shops.

Precison Line Motorsports in Rogers, Mn is always a good place to stop. If your going through wisconsen i would recommend you to bring your bike along and go ride at the sandbox or at least check it out.
