A while back, I had mentioned how we tried to catch DV last year in Houston but missed him because he was just rolling out for practice. So he tells me to just come by the rig this year and tell someone Thumpa's there, and he'll come on out so I can meet him. So we hit the pits in Houston despite the torrential rainfall, get to the Suzuki rig dripping wet and ask some guy in a raincoat if DV's in there, ask him to tell DV Thumpa came by to see him, wait around kicking around jokes like, "I bet DV tells the guy 'Just tell that stalker that I'm taking a nap or something'," but lo and behold DV comes strolling out the rig and I finally get to meet him. So I hand my son the camera and I stand next to DV while I'm grinning ear to ear like a 6 year old.
So we get home Sunday and download the picture, AND...
my kid took the blurriest, most out of focus picture you could possibly take with an autofocus camera.

It was great to finally meet DV though after being a fan of his for so many years!

Sorry about the blurry photo... We'll take another one in Dallas. I am sure you'll make the drive. You, Texans, aren't scared of the miles!!!
Houston was a crazy night! Big crash for me and tornado outside that broke half of the tents of the pits!!!
Unfortunately, some jackazz who was standing in front of me asked DV for his goggles. DV politely told the clown that he needed them for tonight's race, turned and ran into the Semi!
I would see it as a honour to get a chance to even talk to dv directly face to face.
I'm glad i did it one time *and last time* here in the Netherlands.
But asking him DV to give something, is just stupid ignorance people who dont give a crap. but only about therselfs.
And even when that clown had those goggles from dv, then it would not be used/seen as special gift. but as some normal goggles given away by a pro wich will get lost in the following months.
I for example will put defenitly in my mx closet wich will be kept for live
Yep, same here. I stopped by the Zook semi before they opened the pits saturday morning (they were taking down the tent early due to weather) and David took time to say hello.
Nice to meet you finally David.
