I hope for you that you are joking, if not, you need to do some research...[/quote:3tsm1tfl]

Hey DV, I'm sure "smacker" knows what he's talking about.

Look at the terrible track record Roger has.

Sounds like a sub-plot when TP gets back on the track! :D

I think that was the plan originally. But the last couple of interviews I read, he was pretty much sying that after sitting around the house doing nothing for a while, that he was looking for the ful deal. nats and sx. but who really knows until it happens... :?

[quote="wardy":1ibc1lln]It's just cool that he takes time to post in here. NOthing like a first hand account from a rider who is doing the task. anyone who can make mains and do it for a living.....what the hell would any of us do to have that talent. Oh and this isn't an butt kissing deal, riders don't get to that point with out sacrifice.

One thing people forget is that a rider's results are important but also is his marketability. I would venture to say today david's exsposure is more marketable then Travis's. i am sure that plays into decisions.[/quote:1ibc1lln]

If other riders would interact with the fans like DV does their popularity would increase as well. Something Reed should look into.

Yeah, but DV is really the exception I think. He is just very good at not letting the dumb smack talk get to him and knows how to roll with it all. At lot of guys are more likely going to go the Larry Brooks route and have it blow up in their face. ( Maybe DV should cconsider a rider management position when he's done riding to coach these guys on netiquette? 8) )

I will add that ... I don't know how well any of us would appreciate the internet mob ( that would be us ) trash talking about our own job performance and personal life.

It's unlikely you thought about not offending DV with your "opinion".

No ass kissing going on. DV is a class dude, interacts with people at the races, and even goes so far as to hang out with a bunch of internet bench racers like us. I figured he deserved better. Just my opinion....

You guys are over thinking the situation. Lets see if he can even break into the top 10.

Its funny when a rider doesn't get a ride and he drops off the radar, we forget about him. He's a good guy he deserves a ride. I hope he can make it work. Nothing worse than not being able to do a thing that you love. Look at me I want to be C.E.O . at Honda, but noooooooo! I have the noble job of walking behind elephants in the parade , yuke.

I disagree. If he does well in SX and if Kawasaki doesn't keep him on, someone else will surely pick him up for the outdoor season. With a few riders not doing MX, TP would be a great pickup for a good team. Then it will be up to TP to accept the money that they can pay him... or not.[/quote:1xkeswrt]

He doesn't want to ride the Nationals does he???

P[/quote:1xkeswrt]

I don't think he said he didn't want to ride the Nationals as much as he said he didn't want to ride them for free. If I remember correctly, his sponsors wanted him to ride SX for X amount of cash, and if he rode the Nationals, he'd still only get $X. That basically meant he'd be riding the Nationals for free (purse doesn't even come close to counting....).

Even those of us who really like our jobs would expect more pay for more work.....
