I think he probably bought a couple of bikes, like WWR said, but I doubt he had to pay for his suspension.......

I could see someone liking the stock motor just fine.

heck even the great MC said a stock 450 has more power than even he'll ever need!

Heath buys his own bikes, period. No matter what you think. That's just the way it is this year for Heath. No one believed in him really, and I don't know why. He's a great guy and someone who represents sponsors in a most excellent way.

Also, Heath likes a stock bike, it's his personal preference. Yes he had a factory bike but he was the Yamaha guinea pig and will NEVER do that again. Hence his desire to run as close to stock as possible.

I completely believe Voss bought his own race bike.

How's this for ironic - Voss is sponsored by MMI and helps promote their program of GIVING AWAY a new Honda CRF250R to the MMI award winner.

True, no one is holding a gun to Voss' head to do it this way but he loves the sport and is doing pretty damn good this year. I can't believe the way some of you "fans" act.

Rock on WWR!!!

It's so weird- half the time I am hearing there is too much money being paid out to guys for finishing fourth and back etc. and that is why competition is thin, and the other half of the time I am hearing how there is no support being given out even to great riders.
Voss is a great rider, but on the face of it, I imagine a sponsor is looking at whether a rider is going to break out and be a winner. Voss has been around a long time and got a World SX championship, but maybe they know that he will never crack the top three and that's why they don't want to sponsor him. Not saying it's fair, but this is a tough business. And the fact he will only accept one brand is a factor too probably, if that part is true.
I support what WWH is doing. Keep it up guys.

I understand big sponsors' reluctance to really step up with Voss - he's had 3 miserable years with injuries and multiple setbacks. But you'd think he could get bikes without a problem.

That's one of the big failings in our sport - everyone stands in line to sign up Stewart or Villopoto, which is great, but they don't recognize any value in a rider who's in the second tier. For non-industry sponsors, I guess that makes sense because there's precious little TV time for Voss and that's what non-industry sponsor are all about - but I think the moto public appreciates the industry entities that support guys like him.

Maybe we "act" this way because we know better. I am no calling SK a liar on this BUT IF HV bought his own bikes THIS YEAR its because someone screwed up in the process. Maybe HV didn't bother to fill out the papers, I don't know, but there is a process you go through to get a free bike. You don't just drive down and pick up free bikes anytime you want. These bikes have VIN numbers on them and have to be accounted for. Maybe he pissed off someone I don't know. But I do know its not normal for him th buy his bikes.

I think that the topic has always been about THIS YEAR, and the reasons given as to why he hasn't been given bikes seem pretty valid.

I'm sorry, and I am not calling anyone a liar or anything, but I find it hard to believe that a guy who's been a consistent top 10 guy for 10 yrs, top 10 last season, a former factory rider, a former WSX champion, a guy with a permanent number and team leader who can get up front pit parking is incapable of scoring a few CRF450's out of American Honda, the OEM known for loading up the field with their brand.

Who'd he piss off?[/quote:3qbmgq9w]
That is what I wrote, Steve.

See where it says "and I am not calling anyone a liar or anything"
Because I didn't.

I was merely stating the fact that it is surprising that someone of Voss' level has to buy his own bikes.
Am I not allowed to express my amazement in such things?

I just got off the phone with your boss, Scott
Maybe you'd like to talk to him
I have not posted anything negative about WWR on here and make a point not to.

I'll be expecting your apology on here soon[/quote:3qbmgq9w]

Scott's not my boss, and maybe I'd like to talk to him, and maybe I wouldn't. I haven't talked to him since last night.

Perhaps I misjudged the tone of your post; like I said, usually when I read anything you write it strikes me as glass half empty stuff. I wrote my reply before seeing your second post, where you stated that you weren't "calling anyone a liar". I must not have been the only one to perceive your first post in a negative light or you wouldn't have felt the need to clarify. Whatever the case, sorry for taking it wrong. No one likes to be called dishonest, and it would be pretty unfair to Heath for anyone to say that he's not a privateer. His bikes are so stock it's sickening!
I don't know Bauer but your posts seem to get more and more confused lately. I mean they were already bad enough. Maybe its time to seek out some professional help. Not trying to start something with you but damn man.

i got the feeling that most guys couldnt believe that the factorys/bike suppliers were so sad that voss couldnt get a bike ie"man i cant believe voss cant get free bikes"......NOT that he was liing about not getting a bike.

The Motodrive.com/Stormlakehonda.com team was going to give Kawboy a bike, but he said he was going to buy his own bike.

That is the weakest apology you could possibly muster up, Steve[/quote:1ih2285x]

Don't sweat it, Dave. He's just a fat, ungrateful fuck with a chip on his shoulder.
You know it, I know it, most of Motodrive knows it, but his massive ego prevents him from realizing it.

chuck...steve has done quite a bit for people less fortunate than me and you. me and you only have a lost limb and a bitter "fuck you? fuck me" attitude between us. steve is a good dude...we all are.

too bad the net doesn't lend itself to being understood on all our posts like it would if we were all standing around drinking prestone or EI, or beers.

Doesn't the Voss family have deep pockets? I'm sure Heath can afford to buy whatever bike he wants to ride.

Props to Bauer for speaking his mind, I kind of miss the old Bauer. Hey I'll volunteer for WWR, I can't do much (unless you have an old 426 that needs rebuilding) but I'm hell with a power washer.
