We don't go to war for oil, we have great health insurance (We don't have to have auctions everyweek for people that get hurt) and one of the best education system in the world...

The auctions are to help out fellow riders. I see you often donate items to help WW & others, I'm sure it is appreciated. Please separate you political views from charity. Hopefully the auctions are for the people who are in dire need of financial help, ABOVE & BEYOND of their insurance coverage. Having said that, I don't mind throwing in a few bucks at the local track to help out fellow riders, but they SHOULD NOT get on a bike if they do not have heath & disability insurance, OR means to help themselves (I've been waiting to say that for a long time).

Not sure of the exact phrasing on this, but I do like the MANDATORY military service in France. There would be less irresponsibe people in the USA if this were in place.[/quote:bc392]

Don't get my words wrong. I always give gear to charity and I've gave money out of my own pocket ($10k+. Gave $4k to James Marschall and they forgot to thank me at the SX Banquet ;-) ) to injured riders. It's because hospital bills are so high that we SHOULD help those guys. In France, if you work and have Social Security (that's the name of our healthcare) the hospital is basically free. We pay a lot of taxes for it but I really think it's worth it for people that needs it when they get hurt or sick real bad. That's why I really don't like the cheap French jokes about our country. It's not that bad. Not everyone stinks, kids don't drink wine and not all men wear a beret...

the problem is that means that at least 50% of the riders would have to stop riding and the US would lose potential champs. I think that many of them didn't have proper insurance coverage during their amateur careers, before they started to make the 6 figures and over.

Allons enfants de la Patrie
Le jour de gloire est arrivé.
Contre nous, de la tyrannie,
L'étandard sanglant est levé,

Vive la France!
