Ended up in southTexas riding. I rode at least three fun tracks, today at 3-Palms...and I am sore.

Wednesday I rode a cut-down version of the Freestone National track. Very nice facility and staff. Track was fun, but I am afraid it isn't Red Bud or Millville or Budds Creek. Sorry. I am riding 3-Palms tomorrow and head back to Freestone for Saturday races.

Just an update and looks like we will be back next winter for more cool Texas tracks!

Glad you enjoyed one of our wonderful MX parks. 3 Palms is one of our best facilities. We currently have 10 operating MX parks.

Most of our tracks are kind of a MX/SX hybrid because its so flat here. But we love them all!

Enjoy your stay in our wonderful state!

If you want to see some cool vintage bikes, go north on IH45 a few miles to the Hwy 336 exit, stay on the feeder road (lots of construction around there) and go to Cycle Shack North. They have a bunch of really neat old bikes on display there. Great shop.

They built a new building on IH45 and have a display area for vintage bikes. Richard Sanders - the owner who died about a year ago - was the first Penton dealer in Texas and owned the original Cycle Shack that sold Husky, KTM, BMW, Maico and so on, and Richard collected vintage bikes. When he died, his sister put them in the new shop.

Richard was a great guy - I worked for him in high school and some in college, and he never married or had kids of his own, and he put a lot of time and effort into those of us who worked for him. Lyle Lovett worked with me at that shop back in the old days, too. Their website has a few pictures of the vintage bikes.

I think that exit is where we spent New Year's Eve, camping in the WalMart parking lotLaughing

Thanks for the tip as one of our guys forgot his chest protector (Chumbley, Breck)

Is that a decent choice to buy stuff?

The Walmart is at the northern 336 exit - this is the southern Hwy 336 exit (I think it's also called the Frazier Street exit). Sure, they have all kinds of chest protectors and stuff. They should have anything you need.

That sounds good. He is bummed because the one at home is like new. We are riding here until mid afternoon, before we head back to Freestone, so look us up.

We are parked together, near the night track office, at the electric sites. I am in a white Outlaw and Chumbley has a Winnie with a white trailer.

Yep, I knew Lyle worked there but didnt know you did also,, cool stuff. I remember seeing Lyle running scrambles with us in TCHSS series back in 2000. He may have a different style/look, but the guy is a oldskool dirtbike nut like the rest of us.

I guess I havent seen the new location, when I bought the RM they were at the old store. I will go by there next time Im near Conroe and take a look.
