Nascar 2016

I loved the racing though. The surface of the track and the tire combo made for interesting strategy all day.

Listened to it on PRN while ripping Bathroom apart (Remodel time)...It sounded like a good race, Kenseth got friggin robbed. I had Harvick was hoping for the best that last restart but he slid the tires which puts me back around 6th.

Thought the new package was better than the old

I feel you.

I am just completely opposed to the whole concept of the "Caution Clock," so my outspoken enjoyment of the green flag racing we saw on Sunday is partially motivated by that .

You guys see the TV ratings for Atlanta? Lowest in fox history or modern era or something. Really bad, lol.

The attendance looked bad to.

I've always been ok with cup guys in xfinity but now ,with them having a chase its not good. I'd rather seen Jones and the burrito going for the win yesterday.

Kyle Busch sure stuck up the race after Jones kept running the speed limit on pit road....that whole chase deal is what has attendance down, it's as if the race don't start till the end of the season....Malarky

Matt reaping the harvest,he can crash ever weekend for taking out the Ford.

Drank miller last nite to toast the Ford blowing by that rice burning turd.

Saturday was that kid bubba missed lucky day,if that would been in the door it could been a fatal.

Is the nationwide chase like cup,win and you are in?

One more thing,

The leaving off lug nuts is going to send a wheel into the crowd, guess with so many empty seats it may miss everyone.

They weigh about 80 lbs, when IndyCar was at Charlotte I saw that crash ,killed 4 and those wheels are magnesium. I made sure we sat out of debri range that nite.

The logic is that the drivers will know when the wheel is lose and will pull off long before it busts out, right?

Anyone else see those dents in the left side of the 2 and a few other cars? I guess they did that with the tire during pit stops. And its on the left side so they can get away with it.

yep...JJ has come up with alot of what the crews are doing now...see how they pulled the 22 car fender out before the tire? I thought that was a no-no but then again only Truex got busted for the roof flap at Tona when you see all the cars flaps coming up while running....crap shoot man

With 5 laps to go or such they will hope it stays on and ride it out, seen it many times.

They switched to the video and got rid of all the pit guys that used to count the lug nuts.

All to save money. Now,if it stays on with 3 then no penalty.

I can see the 5-laps-to-go-scenario.

Their reasoning on switching was getting 40 or so guys (officials) off of pit road. I'm persuaded by that logic, In fact, I'm surprised that we haven't seen a death on pit road in the last few years. It seems like once every few years a guy spins off of turn 4 and slams the pit wall. Hell, Mark Martin almost made it through a gap in the wall leading to the garage area.

If it were up to me, every pit road would be protected by a concrete wall.

They are reactive instead of proactive. Never understood the unprotected pitroads either.

The 40 guys was definitely cost, they either got locals that did 2 races a year to spot 12 second pit stops which and good since you would need a good eye and repetition to be good or they had to fly 40 guys around, very costly since motels triple the price when nascar comes.

In 93ish Bristol opened the ticket window on the 1st working day of the year to resale the seat that season ticket holders didnt buy. You could get 6. There was maybe 100 people there. The next year I went the day before to get in line I think there was 1500 there, got 6 more. So I had 12 tics for the fall race that were about 100 bucks face.

I would sell them to a tour company for 250 275 each. Did it for years till they finished the last big seating add. By that time the motels were out of control, parking was a nightmare, and even parking in yards had gone from 20 bucks to 100.

The next year the tour company dont call, I thought hmmm, may not be good,it wasnt. Could not give them away.

Tried one more year then didn't renew. They ran it in the ground and now you got tracks removing thousands of seats. Saw on jayski how much ticket sales have dropped.

Another thing,I had great seats at Atlanta and we get there and find out the people beside us paid 100 bucks for 4 ,some special the track put on a week before the race. We paid 100 each months before. That was the last time we went there and the last time i paid early.

Now,we get free tixs most of the time but you can find tixs from scalpers for half price easy.

We had great sests at wilkesboro also,my favorite place,it was just special.

EEric jones car running cheated up,fines coming tuesday.

I figured the jgr cars are getting thru tech with more rear wheel cant than everyone else somehow. Cup cars are the only division allowed rear wheel cant where they lean the wheel top toward the driver side to get more contact patch.

It is what got Harry gant all his wins that fall years ago. Nascar made a rule to limit angle after the teams got crazy and started breaking axels. It is a straight axel with the housing end welded on at a angle for the bearing ,the axel end runs in a bind really amazing it survives.

But,since jones had excess "toe" that got me thinking. It you get to toe the rear axel housing then some cant could be achieved by rotating the housing long as the driveshaft angle is taken into account before .

I'm probably going over most of you allz heads here.

Yeah for kennseth,he sucked again today. Wood brothers and blaney did well.

I hear ya Hillbilly. We would block up the rear end on one side and even bow the frame on our old dirt cars. If ya ain't cheating ya ain't trying!!!

Yuppers......O'le Mr. September sure had one up on everybody including Nascar during that spread of wins, Nascar was going nutz trying to figure out how he was so dominate. I remember they said they had "A front Steer car" Meaning they put the steering Box in front of the front axle rather than behind. I suspect that was just to throw everybody off of what really was going on.

Remember the year all the teams looked liked they were driving 72, Nova's? all the cars were dog tracking going down the straights but drove nicely through the turn
