I'm bummed that Alessi took that nasty digger late last season. He was really rolling the confidence, and I'm wondering whether he lost some of that confidence from that crash. It'd be great to see him really stand up against RV. In the Lites, RV was handing it to Alessi...hopefully Mike's performance against the field last year carries forward.

mike barly got a mention in the SX preview..outdoors is more his game..but shit he gets great starts..maybe he'll be able to do that in the great indoors

why people don't think alessi can learn sx as he goes along...and be a top guy after a few laps in the show under his belt blows me away.

you take away reed, james and rc from the last few years and it's anybodys game. the fugger can ride a scooter..one of the best in the world so that type of thinking blows me away. kenny roberts was a freekin flat tracker and wowed the world on pavement for keerist sakes.

I think part of the reason is that Mike himself doesn't sound all that confident about his chances in SX.

He says; "get holeshots and ride with the top guys". What about "Being one of the top guys?" His attitude towards the outdoors is very different - "win the MX championship FOR SURE". I think Mike can be a top 4,5,6 SX guy with not too much trouble with a few podiums and even top dog in the right circumstance.

I think the difference is also that Ricky, James and Chad are a bit more to a whole lot more in the "freak of nature" category.

That said, I like Mike and would like to see his outdoor attitude translate into the indoors.

well tedesco won 2 lites and he blows in the big boy class. so anything can happen

You expected IT to beat JS and CR??? Really??? I expected MA (the winningest amateur ever) to at least win the mx2 class (outdoors.) In supercross, top 4-7 in the big boy class.

I never "expected" IT to win in the 450 class. There was nothing that I saw in his 250f career that warranted that way of thinking. Personally, his 250f success caught me by surprise. That said, I think a healthy Tedesco can be a 4-7 SX guy over a season with little problem.

It still amazes me how much Mikey has grown in the last 2 years. He now has the attitude of a champion. He is realistic and positive at the same time. I'm sure Roger D has a lot to do with it.

Looking forward to seeing MA ride in 09'.
