Ordered a Les Paul on Dec 7th, expected delivery window was 11-16th. called on 17th.
They said the shipper, fed-ex "LOST IT" (actually someone stole it) and would re-send another one. Called music store today and Fed-ex is returning the 2nd one for "bad address." Address was doublechecked and was perfect. Bryon was very nice and said this is the worst shipping malfunction he's seen.

The music store, GoDpsMusic, is out of the model I want so they can't just put another one in the mail today.

expected delivery is now January. so much for a good Christmas.

Shipping anything right now is insane.
Some stuff that they say is lost isn't scanned because it's in a container and then just shows up days later very late.
I get checks sent to me via fedex and had one arrive yesterday 12 days late from fedex 2nd air mail.
Thought it was lost and it showed up just very late.
I was like WTF..

I'm waiting for a couple packages right now from regular usps, they been sitting at the local post office since yesterday at 12am. They are backed up also and not supposed to come until tomorrow.

I would say the problem is FedEx not Amazon.

I've heard more than a few Fed-ex horror stories now....

You should just run up to Avalon Music in Wenatchee to pick one up. They usually have a pretty good selection in stock and they match prices if I remember correctly. When I got a Mustang amp for my son, their price was actually lower than anything I found online.

Good idea, but I bought during some big special and the price has since doubled. They've asked if I just wanted to cancel the order several times, but, I want my damn guitar! :/

The postal service is worse.

We ordered a part for our shower from England toward the end of October. It shipped out, got stuck going back n forth between two mail handling facilities in Pennsylvania for like three weeks! Numerous phone calls and e-mails to the postal service got us to a guy who told us the package would never get out of that loop because the sender wrote the address wrong on the package and we should ask England for another part to be sent.

England sent another part, ...it showed up in 8 days....and a week later the original package showed up, 6-7 weeks after we ordered it. And there was nothing wrong with the address label!!!

Dont get my wife going on dealing with the automated customer service when you call the postal service. Nightmare.

And on top of all that...the Spokane mail handling facility had part of their roof blow off in a storm and there have been two instances where mail service has been delayed because of that.

I must be really lucky...never had a package lost or delayed. Seems like most show up sooner than expected. Ordered some gifts from Amazon for my daughter and the projected delivery was Dec 28th ( one thing was out of stock ) and it actually showed up this past Monday - a week early.

I have the same luck flying- never get delayed or cancelled fights. My boss on the other hand has trouble EVERY time he flies! Laughing

I worked for UPS through high school and college up to total for just about 7 years. Had 100% medical benefits and started at 8.60. When I resigned I was making $15.80. I vested at 5 years and will get a retirement for $55x7 years of service each month when I turn 62 until I die.

All I can say go ask to watch those guys work in the hub one peak season day. You'll shit your pants when they tell you the make $8.60 an hour to start. And theyre busting their college assess.

I worked at 3rd largest hub in the country. 140,000 pieces moved through there in 4 hours on a normal day. During Christmas 260,000+

I can't blame them if it's lost. They'll make it right. However I've never had a problem either. Service was 98% successful. It's just the nature of the volume. People are human. If you're moving 4000 boxes a night to every different zip code in the USA you're bound to make a couple mis sorts. Your brain is FRIED reading all that.

I figured we had 3 seconds a box. Read. Scan. Load. Three seconds. For 5-7 hours straight. With one ten minute break. Good job for kids, shows them they gotta work hard for not much.

I used to take peak routes for ups. normal non peak driver makes 120-135 stops a day. During Christmas can be upwards of 400. That's why you see these poor SOBs running from the truck to the house. They don't have time.

Looks like someone is growing impatient. They are putting 2,000 of these on the road. Going to be a bit of a hit for FedEx and UPS.

Or just go and buy it from a store... the extra $$ you have to drop ,is what it costs to put it in front of you , so you can have the thing in your hands , before you actually pay for it.

Mrs ordered loads of stuff, some came , some didnt , and she got pissy because i wouldnt sit and wait for a delivery, because i was actually going to buy stuff. Got more stuff than i could carry in 2 hours, came home, job done.
