how to sharpen titanium footpegs

Edited Date/Time 11/4/2015 3:10am
I want to sharpen the tips on my titanium foot pegs for more grips. Has anyone done this and do they have any suggestions on tools to use to accomplish this? Thanks

You could use a dremel tool to get started and then a file to finish up with. If you still have your stock pegs I would try the dremel with those first until you get comfortable.

I personally just stick to a hand file though but like anything else it takes time and patience.

I used a right angle grinder and a GRINDING WHEEL (NOT A CUTTING WHEEL) to do my steel pegs, im pretty sure it would work on Ti as well. Not super precise but does the job in about 1/5th the time of a file.

I use a file but I'm sure you can use a dremel which would be faster. Just be careful you don't take off too much meat...

What Titanium foot pegs are you running DB?

I sharpened the Ti pegs on my YZ250F a little while ago using die grinder and a small diameter carbide burr. It was the same diameter as the radius at the bottom off the teeth so it worked out nice, if you have a set of pegs like Raptors that have straight cut teeth I'd say a small finishing file and a few beers would be the way to go, so that you keep the straight angle they have in the teeth.

Pro circuit Titanium flow through pegs

But I want to run ktm raptor pegs. Apparently they bolt right up using the oem rm springs.
