It's impossible to tell what direction Yamaha likes to go, they develop some off the wall stuff but it almost always is hugely successful. First one I remember was when they came back with the YZ400F, then R6 in 2006 with the insane ergo's..that bike still hasn't had a major revision since 06 and it's still winning, the crossplane crankshaft, rear slanted engine and it seems they are diving headfirst into advanced electronics with the R1's onboard system and now with this self driving robot.

I'm a bit biased because my father is a rep for yamaha, but they still tend to blow my mind more than any other manufacturer with the stuff they come out with for these bikes

With that we could have two championship, one engineering championship, assuming robots drive the bikes perfectly, the only difference between winning and loosing is bike settings and bike engineering. The other championship would be a drivers championship, where every driver rides on the same material, so that the difference between winning and losing is only the driver.

The engineer in me just got a huge erection. That might be the coolest thing I have ever seen. I can't wait to see where they take it and how well they can get it to perform.
