Typically if the idle adjustment know does not have any effect on the idle, the intake valves are too tight. Check and set the valve clearance and it should idle right up. Other things I have seen cause idle screw to be ineffective are dirty injectors and dirty idle circuit. Remove the idle adjustment knob assembly and clean it and the throttle body when you are doing the valve adjustment and see if that helps. The injector will need to be sent or taken to a shop to be done.

My first thought on the valves as well. You can put whatever you want on top of an air pump, there is still an air pump there.

Do these bikes use a MAP sensor for fuel mapping or MAF?

No, just TPS, AIT, and ET sensors on this bike.

This unit does have a MAP sensor and a TPS. If the TPS is not set correctly, or if the MAP sensor is dirty, or if the choke and enricher are dirty or the fuel injector is dirty they will all effect the idle speed. The choke /enricher is adjustable for idle speed.

If you are talking about the intake air pressure sensor, then Ill agree. A MAP sensor is a bit different and is typically used as a reference for forced induction. If the IAP is dirty, you may have bigger problems because that is the air that you engine is feasting upon, and it should be filtered air.

I would place my bet on tight intake valves. I work on quite a few RMZs and have a few of my own.

Most people can't test the TPS, so lets start with a quick valve adjustment and enricher knob cleaning and go from there.

Suzuki calls it a MAP sensor.

Thanks for all awnsers!
possible causes are noted and i will try some this weekend.
talked to a friends, he had the "same" problem (ktm), but in his case it was the fuel pump i think.
Is that a possible cause?

Yes fuel pump can be an issue, but the fuel filter on it is a bigger issue. Normally when you have fuel pump issues , it will not work at all where as if the filter is dirty it will run like crap due to fuel starvation. A lot of fuel pump issues with the KTM's is faulty fuel pump electrical leads.

Have you recently done a top end on this bike? Adjusted valves?
