How has the Alias gear been holding up for those who use it? I am looking at getting a new set of gear for next year and was curious about the durability. The current gear I am wearing is good but the seam in the crotch of the pants ripped out after a few rides this year. Had another pair that wore through on the knees, not the company's fault since I would assume that most pants would wear through with knee braces on. How do the Alias pants fit with knee braces? I've heard they run small on waist size. Thanks in advance for the real world gear reviews.

Over a year ago, Alias was running a closeout on their cheaper line of gear (can't remember the series). I bought two sets for less than $100; one for my son, and one for me. I already had four sets of gear, so mine still has the tags on it. My son, on the other had, has worn the hell out of his, in fact it's the only set of gear he wears since he's outgrown all of his other stuff. I've been very impressed with the quality. I bought this gear thinking he might get a half a season out of it, but it still looks great. The jersey is a little tattered from a couple of spills, but the pants still look great, I don't think there's even a thread out of place.

As to the knee brace question: He wears guards, not braces, so I'm not going to be too much help there.

I bought a set in summer of 13, i wear asterisk braces and wore through the knees in an hour. I was not impressed,
The cut of the fabric is nice and the pants stretch in the right areas but not enough ventilation i thought. Pay for what you get i guess, Maybe they have increased the durability since then. The jerseys run a tad tighter than others. I purchased the pants the same size jeans i wear.

My boys have been wearing it for a year. My older one (14) is especially hard on gear. The Alias stuff has held up really well. Better than anything else so far.............

The Alias gear holds up well. I wear CTi knee braces and it's not a problem with the A2 or A1 pants. Don't have a clue what the other guy is talking about wearing the knees out in a hour with his braces, sounds like BS to me. I wear out my graphics from squeezing the bike with my knees, but not the pants. The pants run true to size these days.

Why would i bullshit people about wearing pants out? That was my experience with them.

Ive been wearing Alias A2 gear since it first came out. The Jerseys hold up very well, and the pants do too. The first year pants I burnt a hole in the right side knee area. It appears they have changed that material after the first year. I definitely recommend Alias gear. I only wished they would make some vented gear for the summertime.

For the most part, the quality is on par with other brands low-cost offerings, except for the knee panels. I don't get how they can even call that leather. As soon as I got them in my hands I knew I would blow through them in a couple of rides and I did. Absolutely garbage quality. Since then, I bought some $3 leather patches (the ones they put on flanel shirts' elbows), and they have actually held up much longer than the original panels.

I have a few sets that are holding up great. No knee braces though so can't comment on that aspect.

You can buy three sets of Alias gear for the price that you will pay for one Fox or Seven.
