Yea, Reed is exactly who I'd want to manage my team. Let's see how many more manufacturers he can throw under the bus and how many more bridges he can burn.
Right. He burned that Kawi bridge in 2010 ........ Oh wait ...... So, exactly what bridge is burned? OK, maybe the Larry Brooks bridge is toast, but what manufacturer?

In CA there is the Creamery that makes the Creamwich and my oldest daughter works there. There are competitors now but the Creamery claims to have invented the cookie sandwich.

TIP. cut the Creamwich into quarters. Available at 7 11s in the beach cities of LA.

Not to interrupt this delicious sidetrack, but Reedy spoke openly about wanting to race SX only in the future, possible teams and his future on the show last week.

He said in a perfect world he will be on his new team and will debut at the Glen Helen GP, then hop on a plane for the MXdN, then the MEC and some European and Australian races.

He's never sounded more fresh and covered about an hour of good stuff. His interview starts around 16:45

No way at MXoN. Ferris and Waters are already there on GP teams with FIM spec bikes, and Wilson or Clout for lites. I'll even put it out there for Styke with his GP experience or Gibbs could drop down to lites being KTM riders.
Reed for rider adviser/manager to help bring up the new guys.

Star's contract is up with Yamaha I believe and also, those Yamaha officials are at every race and work closely with Star, so nothing new with having them there.

J-Mart will be on a 250 indoors and outdoors next year.

Really?

I'd put Ferris on a 250. Waters, Reed, Ferris.

well i guess its a no brainer for yamaha to keep working with star. as for the 2016 outdoors (and sx) in the new yamaha team, i guess jg33 is looking for a ride. nobody else comes to mind who can deliver top 10 results and is looking for a ride. well dm18 but ...no. time will tell.

I would like nothing more than to see the entire field go motocross only or supercross only. They are 2 completely different sports. This point is proven by a 30+ year old still getting factory support and being competitive in supercross but being totally irrelevant in outdoor motocross (Reed). Martin is further proof. Destroys it outdoors but cant win titles indoors. Roczen seems more like a indoor guy who is better at the 17min 1 moto mains. Dudes like Millsaps and Davalos don't seem to like the pro nastys. Lots of upside to the riders. Both could race 1/2 the year and take a break. The teams cut the salaries in half accordingly. Yes guys like Dungey, Musquin, Cooper, etc can do both and should make double the salary. Put the pressure on the outdoor promoter to bring in outside sponsors like supercross has and up the payouts. Or let the outdoors die off since there is no money there. It's business and its not working in its current state.

That would require Chad coming off the lounge and ice creams, fully recovering from surgery, setting up his bike whichever brand to FIM settings for just one race, and getting more speed than he had in the outdoors before he pulled out which I believe was less than Ferris or Waters. He wont risk an injury for what could be his last season indoors and I think you'll find he's already pounding laps on a white Yamaha.
While Ferris would have to get a factory 250 to ride, set up and get used to in a couple of weeks after GP's finish. Not going to happen there either.
A big part in deciding riders for the Nations does come down to logistics too, having competitive equipment and being fit.

Yeah but he's said he wants to do it, and I'd bet if he can (the bike situation) then MA puts him in still... He was faster than the others at last years MXDN and if it came to it again, he would be still.

Yeah, I could see that too. Plus, if they are able to keep JMart and Cooper Webb; think Reed could get them eased into things when they both hit the big stage (450 class).

Can't see him being ready but. Would be good promotion for Yamaha if he is able to ride it there. And do well.

I don't know how bad the shoulder was or wasn't man. You listen to his interviews and he said it was just some loose material removal–which means he could be right to go pretty quick... But on the other hand testing and icecream might be in the way haha

didn't he say no more than 2 weeks is needed to recover from the op. just some soft tissue needs to heal up. however. i think setting up the bike for him is more time consuming than the recovery. so if he really wants to be up there for sx than he needs to put his ego aside and just ride the dame bike. I like Reedy an all but that fucken annoyed me at last years Des Nations when he talked about not doing any riding before it and didn't seem all that keen to be there.. Maybe send a new kid on the 250 to give him a taste of it

with Ferris and Waters obviously

I was the same and I bet so were team management. I don't know if he was covering for a poor performance or what but man, WTF? And i just cant see him being whole hearted to do it again. If things aren't perfect, he'll throw in the towel where the kids will hang it all out regardless. I'm not knocking his achievements past, especially in Italy 2009 in the races with Cairoli and France 2011, and ability to still win SX, just his desire to ride and train like he should right up to the event. If your not, give someone else the chance to get in front of the world stage and give 100% for the country.

I think you're right about Reed not being all that keen or motivated last year, but I'd be very surprised if it was him who had insisted on being there. Team management would have been extremely keen on having Chad and his aura on the team. I feel they would have been pretty insistent on him going and he probably did it more out of a sense of duty than anything else. But you're right, his heart wasn't in it and it showed. In that vurbmoto interview he sounds really invigorated though so I wouldn't put it past him to have the fire back for this year. That is of course if he's healed, motivated, has a bike sorted and is back at race fitness.

I'm a big Reed fan but he's never struck me as being a particularly, shall we say, deep thinker... That interview completely changed my mind! Articulated himself brilliantly, had some good insights and concise explanations and was all round on point. Pretty much solidified me as a fan for life.

If Reed wants to race this years MXoN, he will be on the team.

If he says he is good to ride as is not on the team I would be very very surpised!
