How can RC be there for dominating national series at one of its weakest times? RD dominated the WORLD when the gates were loaded with World and National champs. He travelled to America and won the Trans Am series. One of the most impressive victories for Roger was winning his last GP he entered when he was waaaaay beyond his prime.

The real GOAT = Sir Roger Decoster

RC was blowing away a field with way more speed in it than the current crop of 450 guys. He was and is the GOAT.

I'll never forget watching him get the holeshot in person at Washougal circa 2002 or so and seeing him open up a 5 second lead in one lap. He scrubbed that first single going into horsepower hill and it was all over before it had even started. I think there was a great racerx or Transworld shot of it... couldn't find one though so here's one of steel city from that same year

You don't have to convince me how badass Ricky was, I've seen him dozens of times since his first year to his last.

But I still go with RC as the National GOAT and RD as the World Goat

He is up there. Think about it. He is winning all these races riding in his limits. You have to think that he could even be faster if he was on the ragged edge like Villo, but looks to value his health more.

De Coster has done amazing / incredible things on and off the bike and I don't think we'll see the likes like him anytime soon. I have utmost respect about his accomplishment as a rider and manager. 5 times world champion is something spectacular in itself but then have the balls to move to the US is something incredible as well. He basically lifted the level in the USA to newer heights and make them aware about the MXoN. He won (and still is winning) plenty of championships as a manager for different brand (Honda, Suzuki, KTM). Absolutely stunning. Somebody should really make a documentary about him.
A second documentary . . .
