This phone ap: Motocross GPS Lap Timer Lite, tracks lap times, heart rate, etc. Just d/l it today so haven't tried it. The reviews are pretty positive.

Anyone know what phone case that is, or have a recommendation for one.

I just downloaded it after seeing your post.

That case looks like one that would be used for running, usually straps to the arm.

What kind of phone do you have? Do a google search for running cases specific to your model, you should find something.

I don't know but that doesn't look very safe for the phone. First of all, there are A LOT OF vibrations (a bit are damped by the pad but there is still significant vibrations). Second, when a crash occurs, things can go bad very quickly (e.g. cracked screen). BUT most of important of all, what if your wife calls you during a moto and starts moaning about how you did not clean the bathroom? Grinning

You must've had a shitty iphone. My droid can take a licking & keeps on ticking Smile

The picture above is the one of my current bike.
I'm using this solution since 2009 (when I started developing the application).
For my experience it is safe for the phone.
I'm using the same phone (Sony Xperia U) from years and it continues to work
and look fine.

No, iPhone is not a supported device and it is not planned for the future.
That's a mistake for sure

No kidding. "lets alienate the most popular phone ever made".

The application was born for my personal purpose.
iOS devices price is the reason they was discarded since the beginning: putting a >500$ device onto
a dirt bike did not seem a good idea.

I don't think its about the type of phone, but rather the Operating System.

Most apps are free for Android, my HTC one has had the shit kicked out of it for 2 years and is still in solid form. Anyways I'll give the app a shot and see how it goes. whether to mount it on my arm or the bike is the question.

I wrapped my heart rate monitor watch around my bar pad. Durable when I crash, see my lap time/overall time/heart rate/miles traveled. Annoying to look down to see your lap time though. If you could do an app for the recon instruments HUD that'd be the next step

Hey Mr Know it All,

I started this thread and in no way have a clue who owns the app or that he reads vital. So shut your stupid hole.

I think it's pretty cool that he'd come on here and give his 2 cents.

You're just a miserable d-bag.

Very pumped on this! Can't wait to try it!

Edit: For anyone apprehensive about using their phone, find something like an old Galaxy S3 and order an arm band off ebay for a couple bucks.

Get a Fit Bit HR. No chest strap required, it will record everything and sync to your phone and computer via blue tooth if you are within 10' of either. Tracks time, sleep, calories, steps, miles, heart rate, food and a lot of other things that I have no clue how to use them though!!!! Even lets you read text messages as well. Its only about 5/8" wide with a very soft rubber strap. I have been using it with great results on and off the track a month now.

It tracks everything on a 24 hours basis as long as you are wearing it but it also lets you start and stop individual workouts or motos throughout the day that it tracks separately from the 24 hour totals so you can see each work out. Each thing that is tracked is also given to you in a graph form as well. Best money I have spent on any tracking device.

Listen here you ignorant fuck, I can suspect anything i damn well please. I just thought it was suspect. Exuse me for knowing how often and what lengths people go to drive a product down consumers throats. And for your info ti473 the app says lite wich means there is or could be another version that you will or have to pay for. that is just the trial version. So the more people interested in the app the more he could potentially charge for it.

i just downloaded the app, and although haven't tested it, seems really well designed at first glance. I had tried a bunch of other similar apps before and most of them are crap and/or not specific for moto. I really like that it has HR integration, especially since I already have a zephyr BT monitor.
And like MP261 said, just get a cheap S3 for 100 bucks. Besides how much are you gonna pay for a GET or something similar?

i'm not saying its not worth it ..... i'm just saying that this is a trial that is why it's free. Explore the market type of deal.... work out kinks, and things like that. When he is ready ...he will realease a new and improved version and potentially charge for it. i not bashing or anythng like that. Just genreally how these things work...IMO
