went with a small giro mtb helmet for my little guy. most of the kids bicycle helmets i've seen are built like toys, this one is as solid as my fullsize version. it's also got decent rear coverage compared to most other kids bike helmets i've seen.

If they still have soft spots on their head they probably shouldn't be on a bicycle. Maybe get them some training wheels.
There is a reason they Don t have training wheels. Training wheels are prob more dangerous than without.

Airoh also has a bike specific helmet the Fighters Millennium that weighs 800g for the XS and the ventilation blows any other helmet away.
