i know this wont go down well , but this year imo , MX2GP are far deeper in talent than the 250 ama . and i think that its the fist time in a long time too . the top 5 in the ama are unreal , but it drops off big time. i realy think this is the weakest geico team in years (no canard, tomac ,bariac) also the weakest pro circuit team in years . j mar and MM25 are prob head and shoulders above everyone . it has been a long time since MX2 has been stronger ,but this year i def think it is . ps. even tho i hate him ,herlings would be a mile ahead of eveyone imo, just like the gp s too

Seeing Martin blow by 20 riders in 1 lap after giving them a start straight head start I must agree with you.

like i am sure j mart ,MM25 ,webb, and AC would be up top of the field in MX2 as well and even win . but think back just a few years ago in 250 ama you had canard, tomac, roczen, bagget, wilson ,barica, weimer, tickle ,etc etc ,the last couple of year s it has nt been half as stacked .

Transcendent talents can win everywhere. There are 2 in the AMA this season and 1 in the gps.

You could argue that the gp guy is the best but Martin is looking strong right now.

He's talking about depth, not individuals.

It happens in both series, for instance I felt that Tommy Searle would have won Mx2 easily in 2009 instead of going to America and racing the likes of Pourcel, Barcia, Tomac and Dungey. But when he came back he had to struggle against Roczen an Herlings

So what you are saying is that Herlings would have finished outside the top 10 at the GP's had the same thing happen to him as it happen to Martin. Personally, I think Herlings would have done the same thing Martin did. One thing this years AMA Nationals have are a bunch of young riders. In the next couple years that class is going to be stacked!

It's a dam shame that the USGP is a month are the last AMA National.

Horses for courses a lot though,Im pretty sure a lot of those AMA boys off the lead pack were incredibly fast around Glen Helen yesterday just like the MX2 guys are on their domain.

MX2 has had a few years where a lot of riders have been gaining experience and speed, the class is suprisingly strong now, thats going to be the pattern in the AMA 250s IMO
