I saw that, seems a little ambiguous though don't you think?

(although I really hope you're right!)

It just says they are excited to see him on the line. Doesn't say when that will be. I will be surprised if he's at Matterley, but very happy too. I would think if he was riding we would know by now.

FFS can we just get an official statement confirming this? I'm literally waiting on the news before I buy my ticket and it's getting a little close to the day now.

We are more than excited to see @ryan_villopoto2 back on the line! pic.twitter.com/1vOUbtfF8e

If you're referring to this tweet then nothing says he'll be on the line this weekend. No doubt it's a play on words and a marketing ploy to sell more GP tickets and that's all.

Who is this RV you speak of?

I'm guessing not...

I expect they're holding back on making an announcement for precisely that reason. They know RV is the major draw this year.

You can always just get a ticket on the gate, but I agree it's a bit frustrating being kept in the dark.

Yeah definitely, wouldn't surprise me if we hear an official announcement on Friday (at the earliest).

Maggiora would be my guess. That would be another 3 weeks from now and 2 months since his crash. Racer X posted that that he may not return till June, which would tie in with that theory

Nothing on his website, instagram or facebook , so its probably BS coming from youthstream to sell more tickets.

I'm giving them until tomorrow to announce either way. I'll go for sure if he's there, but don't think so if not. Living in the north I can't exactly turn up on the day and being a holiday weekend I'm sure it will be a massive pain in the arse to book somewhere (It was hard enough to get the missus to agree to a day at the track, camping there just ain't gonna happen...)

If Kenny can race with a broken back does that mean he's more badass than RV? Laughing Laughing

Where did RacerX say that?

When it was announced he wouldn't be racing in Spain RV was quoted as saying:

“My goal is to be back racing as soon as possible, but to have a chance to fight for MXGP wins you must be 100 percent fit,” he said. “Together with the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team we did our best for a prompt recovery, but unfortunately we have to wait a few more days before we'll be back racing.”

That statement makes it sound as though the injury was not all that bad and he was pictured at Valkenswaard sitting on a pit bike.

The week after the crash in Italy he said he would attempt to ride at Valkenswaard but didn't (understandable), then two weeks later they announced on the friday evening that he wouldnt be racing the Spanish GP. Now it's looking increasingly likely that he'll miss Matterly Basin and possibly more GPs. But we don't know for sure because we're being kept in the dark.

What's going on, is this going to be another RV > 2014 Outdoor Nationals scenario?

If there's nothing around Winchester try Southampton or Basingstoke, neither are far away.

There's bound to be availability at a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge etc (that's if your missus doesn't have overly expensive taste...)

Xavier Boog testing RV's Kawi this week for the French GP. Will RV ever come back in GPs or is he in early retirement?

They posted it on Instagram from the Spanish GP. I thought it was quite a strange post as there's been no official word from either RV or KRT to back that up, but they must surely know something we don't to post it. It is strange, you would think it would be better for him to come out and say 'this injury will keep me out for a while, I'm going to go away and work on getting back to fitness. I'm out until I tell you otherwise'. It seems neither him or his wife can post anything on social media without 100's of people asking when he will return, that must get quite frustrating. Like others have said, maybe YS have asked him to keep it under wraps

If they are lining up a replacement then the latter may be true

A replacement rider definitely isn't a good sign. That doesn't suggest RV will be back for a long time, if at all.

If he's decided that he's going to call it a day at the end of this year then he may feel he has nothing to gain from coming back and racing a handful of GP's. That's purely speculation of course

You would like to think that if he was fit and able to he would at least come back and try and win a couple more GP's for the team. They did after all out their eggs in his basket for this season. They put all their effort into him, it would be disappointing if he didn't at least try to return

I remember them still advertising RC racing the MXdN at Matterly , I wouldn't put much stock in that vague twitter post.

I was told by someone I think would know that he won't be racing in England, and they were trying to figure out the plan for what's next.

His agent said he is hoping to be back for the last 4. Not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but on top of the tail bone, he fractured a vertebrae in his back as well... I'd imagine he might reconsider racing the GP's again next year. I don't think he wants to go out, without winning the title. Just a hunch..... Cool
