Can we get a +/- 1 Rating System for Forum Posts?

Edited Date/Time 5/17/2015 6:49pm
I've noticed that in the Features section of the website users have the option to +/- 1 comments.

Is there a way to add that feature to the posts on the forum? I think that would be a great way to highlight the good and throw shade on the bad.

No, I think you're at -2. I read Phil's +1 as a scoring of Hvaughn's comment/score.

Make that -3 now, Sorry. Wink

It works just fine for wedding out the crummy comments on other forums

If I could just downvote stupid shit I wouldn't have to spend so much time explaining to people why they are wrong.

I agree with that. I'm a redditor, and this system works great for hiding posts that are irrelevant or stupid. Same username as here if anyone wants to be friends Smile . Lol.

It's easy. Every browser has it built in. If you dislike a post, simply press the X in the upper corner to dislike.

I could see something like that working.
Have a set Negative number and when it reaches that mark it deletes itself or throws it into another thread (Pre-Dumbgeon) for said amount of days then deletes itself.
Or if the content changes (Like it often does) and the posts get Positive reviews it gets reborn.

Same on the Positive side.
If a Post gets rave reviews and hits an outstanding mark the Person that started the thread gets star count under their name (Instead of post count)
That would boost Quality instead of Quantity.

If you are a quality poster then you shouldn't have to worry about that.

"Popular" and "quality" have no guaranteed correlation. For example any vacuas thread involving scantily clad women.
Also, really, if you only post up popular threads what you'll end up with is a very vanilla board. I don't like lots of the posts on this board but it would be a poorer place without them.......

I think what the forum really needs is to impose a rule that if you put "NSFM" in the thread title, the moderators can't go in. . . and we can all have the free for all we really want.

You don't think it is a free for all now? F bombs name calling and ethnic slurs go unchecked as it is.

The only way you could really be against a +/- system is if you're only here to start arguments. If you're here to post in the Moto section, think about what you're saying, and contribute in a positive way you should get more up votes than down. It works just fine for redditt.

If something's bothering you that badly, you have two options, at a minimum. Exit the thread, or e-mail a Mod, and they'll clean it up. Let's not forget, you have an Amendment down there, but when racism comes into it, that changes things.

I often enjoy a person's post and would like a way to contribute without having to make another post that adds nothing to the thread.

I would love this. I don't care if people say fuck all day or random ignorant crap but I'd love a way to up/down vote.
