It has finished raining except for some scattered showers tomorrow according to the latest weather guess.
Folsom got 1 1/2 inches of rain in about two hours tonight.
Track might be messy tomorrow, but should be great for Saturday.

Some better pic's of the "trench/bowl" on Racerhead. Come out of this into the finish jump. Big odd jump is in the background.

The entiire track will be watered using energy drinks. It'll take three seconds off the lap times.

Would you believe Brawndo actually sponsored an MX Team?

I would, wish I would have done an extra shirt for me. Think I lost the artwork when a HD took a shit.

Heck yeah.... I'm too excited to go to sleep!

I have an early start and some winterish winter to get through on the 80 but I'll be there one way or another, I'm sooooo stoked!

The trench makes no sense, if you are allowed to blast straight across the middle like the picture above shows why would you waste time tip toeing up on the hard pack wall and leaving your doors wide open? I could see a purpose for going to the outside up the wall carry a little speed if there was a jump coming out of the trench. But there isn't. Hopefully they put some kind of track markers to make them ride the walls. If not I really hope some riders can pick up on this and make the others and the track just look foolish

Seriously? You can't see that banking would help your exit speed? If you have no one up your ass it's the faster way. You never heard of getting out front and taking the lines you want?

I do see that banking would help exit speed, but why? It looks like they won't be able to use that exit speed, they have to come out of the trench basically over a mellow wall single. Unless they figure a way to scrub it they are going to have to slow down to keep their wheels on the ground so they can jump the next jump. So why waste time going from one side to the other just to set up for a corner you are going to have to slow down as soon as you come out of?
Best line in my opinion would be brake before the trench. Hug the inside of the corner marker, drop in and turn straight for the exit, gas straight across then turn skate/scrub up and over the single out of the trench, Should be able to carry just as much speed doing it that way as going all the way outside.
One thing that can be said for this obsticle is it has more than a few ways to approach it.

I'm a go ahead and guess that the best MX riders on the planet are taking the right line, and more than likely the fastest.

Don't they come into the trench perpendicular to the center line?
