Maybe. This is a Us vs Them debate.

Was it Churchill who stated; " There are years when you have only days of change. Then there are days when you have years of change".
I think Alberta is having one of those moments.
Since Edmonton has won the Draft lottery of Connor Mcdavid, three weeks ago. Edmonton has changed out Oilers Ceo, GM, coach (?). New Arena. Alberta has elected a Socialist Government. Prior to this Alberta has had forty years of conservative ruling.

Wow!!

True! Finns are a gritty group of players. Defensive style, works great. Swedes are little better skaters, play makers. Russians are good all around, play tough hockey. then the others? Czech, Slovaks, etc.
Prediction Chicago in 6.

The series hasn't even started yet, and if I hear 'scorey corey' one more time, Im gonna barf. More like 'Corey Fairey'. I hope you are right in your prediction. The ducks will be tough. I think the hawks have more depth and better 'tending.

Just blast the puck on Anaheims goalie top stick side. Seems weak there. I like corey perry, kind of plays hockey similar to myself. A little dirty, other teams hate you, like to get the blood flowing. Evil

We are Sparring until the Olympics 2018. Woohoo Meanwhile my money is on Chicago. One - Two punch(Toews, kane), good defense (swede of course Hjalmarsson), Keith, Seabrook. Cool Cool Decent Goalie Crawford.
Poor Ovechkin. Prediction did not come true.

Haha, that will be fun. I'm not betting against you. Anaheim and Tampa have strong teams but a bunch of big egos too. Their motivation can turn fast if it stops going their way. Chicago and Rangers is where the hard working men is. Rangers needs to start scoring if they want to win. Not an issue in the other teams.

There's 13 swedes on the roster for the teams in the play off. Although some of them not playing.
Lindholm, Rakell, Silfverberg, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, Krüger, Rundblad, Nordström, Lundqvist, Hagelin, Fasth, Hedman, Strålman.

The future of Swedish hockey looked poor a couple of years ago and now all of a sudden it has turned a whole 180° and looks better than ever. The success in the U20 WC took hard on some promising talents. Had a really hard time living up to it and didn't get a permanent spot on the elite teams in Sweden, But guys like Hedman, Krüger, Silfverberg and don't forget Filip Forsberg going the extra mile and showing what they're made of. Guys like Henrik Zetterberg, Sedin brothers, Kronwall, Franzen etc needs a deserving replacement when their time is up.

Not bad mouthing Ray, he had a great carreer, he played 20 years for the same team, being team captain for 15 made him a very respectable player. I think anyone in his position would've done the same thing. Just like Mike Modano and Daniel Alfredsson. Except they left for a team having a hard on for old guys.

Never cared for Ray Bourgue. He played during Oilers dynasty. Did like Chicago Denis Savard. That guy had moves. Playing with big Al Secord.
I had more respect for Borje Salming then Ray Bourgue. That swede took a beating, but kept playing. Paved the way for the swedes. Met Borje in Stockholm at a horse race. Nice guy. Liked his young wife. Woohoo

Haha, Börje is a bad ass but he's a bit like Björn Borg today. Trying to do his own thing and build a brand out of his name. Wants to become an entrepreneur. Huge market in it, so why not. Yea, all of the swedish hockey players are huge horse racing enthusiast. Sedin brothers and I think Kronwall owns several horses together. Peter Forsberg is also a shark in that field.

I knew someone would say that. I know they tend to pussy out when it gets rough and they do get a lot of shit for that. During the lock-out a couple of seasons ago they played in the Swedish league and the fans for the opponent team gave them a lot of shit. I think their brilliant technical skills weigh up that side. It's almost like they use telepathy. People said they couldn't play without each other but they've been equally good when one's been out injured. You also have a guy like Franzén in Red Wings who happens to be about 6'5 and will run away crying when it gets rough, at least he should be able to stand up for himself.

I haven't been on this page in a few days. Thanks guys for keeping this thread relevant. Anyway, Anaheim and Chicago are going 7 games in one of the best series of recent memory, and the winner of that series will win it all in 5 games against Tampa Bay, who will win in 6 against New York. Let's see if that prediction comes true.

No! Chicago vs Rangers in final. Still have 8 players left in my pool. 7 Hawks and 1 Ranger (Nash). Nash is a no show in playoffs, like Crosby. Best sniper in league is Kane. Dry

Nash has been invisible in the play offs. He got traded for a reason and has the highest salary among the skaters. They can't dump him either, but this is a never ending problem for Rangers. Trades a high profile forward for big money, either gets injured or stops producing. Just take a peek at the individual stats for the play offs. All of Rangers is abscent while all of the other teams left has plenty of players in there. Stamkos, Perry and Kane for example.

Marion Gaborik comes to mind.

Did they trade to get him or draft him? But anyways he didn't do shit with NYR.

Gaborik got traded from Wild to Rangers. Had a couple of really good seasons, was the only player in Rangers on the front side of the stats board for a long period, then he got injured AGAIN! That guy is made of glass, almost like Dean Wilson.

Agree. Nash still needs to get unkorked. As for Chicago vs Anaheim. Time will tell. Might be 7 games. Anaheim is surprising me. Dropped to #3 in Pool. Tyler Johnson is lighting it up big time. Pinch

Good for MSL to finally score, and on away ice in Tampa, looked like it felt good.
Not sure about Anaheim vs Chicago anymore. Anaheim has a super offensive team but Chicago looks more solid on paper. Game 7 is not impossible but if Anaheim keeps scoring and that Danish dude keeps being a wall they will get Chicago before that.
