i had plans to ride the Vet World this year since i turned 60 in january. my training plans went downhill when i had to go through 7 weeks of radiation for a recurrence of prostate cancer. it's been three weeks since that ordeal came to an end. a local track has an annual event for Over 40 riders every november. it's called the Pete Perna Invitational, named for a local old guy. even though i wasn't in moto shape, i made it a point to attend this year. usually, i'm on the road with arenacross and don't make it to this race. l loaded up the boxtruck with the grand kids and our bikes and hoped to make at least two laps before i was worn out. there were 30 riders in the Over 40 race and i scored an 18-23 for 19th overall. not too bad for a grandpa racing against a bunch of 40 year old kids. the grand kids, "bob" and "hannah" did okay too. bob was 3rd in the 4-6 peewee and hannah took the win in the girls class. here is a photo link:

well, george must have had his governor on, because a 500 honda should have stroked my 450.
