Motocross is my hobby, in the real world I am a professional with a family and a very nice living. I wouldn't call Mike a "would be" professional, just like it would be way off base to call me a "would be" pro racer. But we are here to discuss professional motocross, not the business world. In short, I wouldn't trade places with him for a squirt of piss.

Neither you nor the Alessi's have learned this.

Mike would make a helluva lot more $$$ riding the Canadia Nats, with a good shot at a podium at each race...and maybe even a win. What does he get to ride the Outdoor Nats one more year? Holeshots don't amount to anything if you drop the anchor by the fifth lap. He gets to line up at each race knowing deep down inside that he has no chance of a win. Mike is faster than a lot of riders, but he is far from as fast as the guys who can do top-5 consistantly. Mike Alessi is a fast top-15 rider here...but he is a shoo-in for top three in Canada. If I was Genova...I know what I'd do.

You want to hear something crazy? I think Mike would do well in the MXGP's. Seriously.
Mike doesn't "drop anchor" in the Nationals. He holeshots SX races and falls back because it is obviously not his forte. He is a sure top 5 US National rider and a podium threat at every race

As much as I dislike the alessi family, you are wrong. I watched mike beat the field straight up and win Moto 1 at washougal not too long ago. The dude has serious skills outdoors

It's kind of sad to see where Mike finds himself. He is riding a bike with absolutely no OEM support, wearing gear without a gear companies' logo, wearing a helmet without the helmet companies logo, riding for a team that battles with both the media and the promoters while constantly playing the victim, and is looking at racing in 3 different series in the same season when he could finish top 3-5 in any of those series if he did the whole thing.

Say what you want but the history books, and his bank account, would be quite different if Mike had played his cards right with his career.
Facts are facts...yes most of us agree with you.

What the hell is going on here, get a grip of yourself's, Mike Alessi can do what makes him happy, the Canadian Nationals are happy to have him and the outdoor nationals in America are also. He is a very talented racer and the lack of respect towards people in general is a shame. Maybe he wants that canadian championship that he damn near had in 14, it's not like the guys in the great white north suck at racing and he brings more attention to either of the series which is good!! Why is there so many personal attacks on each other, assbergers, assholes, who cares?? What the hell does it have to do with moto, nothing that's what.
