. Have been for many years
.lately I've been thinking it needs some fixing
And not just safety ...
But in fairness .
It's like there are two or three separate races
Going on
..imo the bikes need to be more equal
And perhaps closer to stock .
... no parts that can't be bought
By any one ..
And why do we need
Those holeshot devices ?
If nobody had 1
Nobody would need 1 ..
But watching the races
Sometimes it seems like the factory riders
Are in Nascars
and the privateers ate trying to
Compete with them in stock
Impala's
... these are already
The fastest most talented
Guys in the world
Why give them the fastest
Best handling bikes
And an unfair advantage
.. making for some boring racing ..
Imo somethings need to happen to
Make things more equal
And perhaps slow it down a little at the same time
With stock motors and suspension perhaps ??
Every one of you will forget about this in a few days.. 10 days tops and yawl will be preoccupied with another thread STAMP IT!
Immediate action should start at Eliminating 450C. There is NO reason for that class.
In what case, do novice riders need to be riding the fastest bikes made, make sense?

I agree that most people around here will forget about safety when they get a new picture of a top rider's girl, but does that make it any less important?
Your argument boils down to: We can't stop everyone from getting hurt, so why care about safety? It's a stupid argument, and you aren't the first one to make it.
Do you give a shit if these riders get hurt or not?
Same thing.
Mensa meeting for Muslim loving atheists let out already?
450s aren't all about top end power, for some of us it's about having extra power on tap. I would bet the bank kids and young amateurs have had horrendous crashes on 65s, 85s, super minis, 150Fs, 125s, 250s and 250Fs trying to do stuff they shouldn't have tried. I also submit far less of us vet riders, even the really fast ones, have less major injuries than kids do or did, because either through our own processes or our parents advice have learned to use our heads.
It's never going to happen but it would be interesting to see data on 10-15, 15-20, 20-25, 25-30, 30-35 and so on with age groups involving injuries in the sport.
I've already mentioned my opinion means little to nothing to anyone. Its about having some down time and wanting to talk about a sport I enjoy with like minded people. Like we should never talk about anything because it doesn't mean anything right? Great point. Top notch stuff.
Also, good stuff PEPE.

amateur racing-good as it gets.
Lets pretend that the motorcycle industry is a brick wall.
Lets also pretend that you and you're risk minimising advocacy are riding directly into a brick wall.
Pad up buddy.... you're gonna need it.
If you are pretending, then you aren't talking about reality.
