Nope, haven't ever done any WERA races. I just race with a local club around the Midwest. I'm heading to Tulsa this weekend.

You should let your friends use them...instead of calling me on Sunday night trying to get some while they were down here. lol

Had a successful weekend at Hallett. I didn't set any records, far from it, but I didn't scratch the bike. Smile I'll have some photos and videos to post sometime soon.

I'm looking forward to watching them ( and hoping to see you hitting more apexes this season Wink ). I also like seeing the "74" stickers on the bike, they just look right. .

I raced my new bike for the first time this weekend at Putnam Park. I had a great time. Saturday was absolutely a perfect day as far as weather goes. Another guy and I taught the race clinic on Saturday (classroom and on track riding and a mock race, needed to get your race license). There were 13 students. I missed the first two advanced practice sessions because I was teaching the clinic and only got a couple of slow pace sessions in with the students in the morning. I did get just a few hot laps in Advanced the last session before the race. I was starting on the front row and a buddy of mine started in the 3rd row. The starter messed up and flinched but didn't wave the flag which caused some of the riders to start, so a half second later the rest of us started and I see my buddy and a couple of other guys go by me just as I started. So I was 4th into turn 1 and my buddy was in front. It took me about a lap to get by the 2 guys between us and we were then running 1-2. He had a pretty good gap on me but I was able to reel him in "a little" over several laps, then someone else caught and passed me and caught my buddy. I hung with them for a few laps and then realized I was old and out of shape and started to slow because my body couldn't take that pace any longer. One other guy got around me and my buddy ended up winning and I took 4th.

Then today it was raining all day. No problem, I LOVE racing in the rain. I put the rain tires on, went out and control rode the novice session, ran a couple advanced session and then it was time for the race. The starter didn't mess up this time and I got the holeshot and led the pack into turn 1. In fact I led the race for about a lap and a half and then my buddy caught and passed me and checked out. There was nobody close to me either so I was out there riding around by myself for 2nd place. Good weekend. My buddy should be 1st in points and I think I am in 2nd in the points after 1 race weekend. I realized very quickly on Saturday that having this new 1000 doesn't mean I don't have to work out now. Sad In fact I'm thinking I need to be in better shape to ride this than the 600 because it's more bike to muscle around the track and it's got amazing power. Uploading the video from Saturday's race and I realized I didn't have my camera on in today's race so no video. Sad I think there were about 13 racers in each of our races this weekend. My buddy is less than half my age so it's going to be tough beating him but I think if I get on the treadmill I just might have a chance (hope he doesn't read this). Smile

Cool deal.

Get your bluff in on those young guns and you'll have them right where you want them.

Videos for sure next time.

Yeah, I need to get in shape. I could barely hang onto the bike after half way and today I can barely move. Smile
