My son Ricky was paralyzed racing an Amatuer National at Lake Whitney....He loved this sport as much someone possible could. It's hard to believe it's been that long already when I can remeber that moment like it happened today. I can't believe a sport he and I love so much could bring so much pain...but it is what it is I guess.

As bad as it may seem, it could be worse. I'm happy to hear that he's still here and you can still spend time with each other. I'm sure you're finding positives out of this in some way. Best wishes.

Thats right Big Rick, it is so crazy how time flys! March 17th will be 30yrs for me Blink ...THIRTY fucking years! totally boggles my mind.

I hope and pray that Ricky doesnt end up w/ any lingering spine problems like im dealing with when he gets my age from all the abuse we put ourselves through when we were younger.

Best thoughts to all three of you. Wish I had something better than that to say but it all sounds hollow.

I was there that year...though I think I got there the day after. I still remember how shook up everyone was about it.
