Yup! Remember Dunlop gate? (Stewart raced a main with a Dunlop rear while the team was sponsored by Pirelli)

Another Yamaha supported team let them have a Dunlop spec tire so JGR could let him compare under race conditions, but someone spotted it on the starting line. Dunlop wasn't pumped...

JGR never raced a Dunlop when they were with Pirelli. James came out for practice at A1 with dunlops on and set fast time but was on Pirelli's for everything else.
