Does anyone have any pictures of Davi's old RM80 with the upside down front forks? A friend and I were talking about that bike today, and I can't seem to find any pictures of it. The rumor I heard long ago was that they were originally off of Buddy Antunez old bike. Any truth to that?

Thank you Izzi was a dominant Supermini rider! I believe one year at the US Open in Vegas he showed up with an all gold RM85. I remember seeing & reading about it in MXA. That would be a cool picture to find.

The difference between those bikes though is that Izzi's is at minimum an 03 or newer which means it's an 85 & came with those forks. Davi's is an RM80 and those forks were pretty rare in those days. I don't even believe PC offered anything like it yet (days before mail order and internet) & I don't know anyone who knows about how or where they originated from & what was so special about them.

I'm going to play along here, and say yes you're correct with proper porting I due believe an RM85 could be the fastest bike. It has the best power valve system design out of all the mini-bikes with it.

Yes. Every single other 80 had USD forks. Not really that special. Prob off a CR80 or something.

I was at that race. Izzi had that bike and two or three more in the back of a truck, never forget seeing all those trick 85's. I was 14 then and man was I envious of him. Pretty sure the graphics had dice on them.

I've got a 1998 CR80 in my garage I'm doing crank and top end on. It's got upside down forks on it. Thought the cr80 came with them?

Yamaha got USD forks in 93, Honda got them in 96 And kawasaki got them in 1998 on the 80, although the kx100 got them much earlier, I wanto say around 1993 or so. Suzuki was last to make the switch in 2002.
