These are the people that deliver the news.


“You are absolutely right and I was wrong,” he wrote, adding that he had in fact been on the helicopter behind the one that had been hit. Constant viewing of the video showing him inspecting the impact area, he said, “and the fog of memory over 12 years — made me conflate the two, and I apologize.”

Yup. I was in a Navy S3 while I was active duty, and we were flying low right, off the wing of our lead AC when we hit a thick cloud bank. When my pilot lost visual of the lead, he said "Oh shit!" over the intercom as we broke low/right to the leads high/left. We were nowhere near crashing, but I'll never forget the tone of his voice when he said that.

Just another sad commentary on the public apathy to care about what really goes on in our country and the world, let alone be inconvenienced to have to contemplate any issues that may require personal thought or introspection about what it all means.

I'm gonna go ahead & cut this guy a break. There is a chance, a slight chance his limo to & from work comes under fire from heavy artillery daily so he has memories mixed up. That & doing blow off a hookers tits every night might mess up the head....

If he was on the helicopter that followed an hour later why(how) could he come up with that Lettermen story?

How can you missremember being shot down in a helicopter especially when that never ever happens to you?

My wife likes Brian Williams and I admit he does seem like a funny likeable guy, I'll see what her take on it is.
