My 2000 Pastrana replica.. I shan't post a pic of it until it's finished.

I'm after more works suzuki parts to finish it if anyone has or knows of anyone selling anything.

Ok, what's the deal with this "RM500"? It appears to be a 84 RM250 with an engine swap, but what engine?

I'm not sure what engine is in that thing. When it was first posted I thought maybe 500 QuadRacer but it's not even close. Maybe an old Zabel?

As far as i know it's a one-off custom made motor.bike was built in 1985 and is for sale in a shop (called mastercross) in italy.guy who own's the shop used to run some gp raceteam's in the 80's and 90's.he has some special/ex factory parts and bikes etc for sale.also seem's to have a shit load of N.O.S. tecnosel graphics and seat cover's for sale from the 80's 90's.
Have a look at his shop in the link.

Managed to find out a bit more on the bike.apparently it's an aircooled rm motor converted to a watercooled motor by jan geboers (eric's brother) in 1985,when they were heavily involved with suzuki.82 factory tank,84 rad shrouds,85 chassis w front disc?
Also has a rear disc brake which was'nt production till 87/88?
Etc.

I spent most of my time playing the part of a pinball.
We had a ball! Going to do it again this year.
Cheers, Pat
Very nice!

Like the uncluttered look

Always had a great time on red bigbores in the past, even when they threw my ass on the ground.

Tyga Performance are going to start producing MX pipes. I talked to Paul and he said they're looking to get started soon. I have Tyga pipes for my NSR250 and they're extremely light, well made and look great.

Well I don't have a graph for my MC18 pipes, but here's one for the MC21 pipes which I'll probably purchase soon (Same engines more or less, similar pipes as well. Same power gains). They did the wiresplice mod to trick the PGM unit into thinking it's in 1st gear all the time, hence the jump in power. But the pipes add roughly 5HP minimum in all gears. Another thing this graph doesn't account for is the fact the Tyga pipes are up to 1/4 the weight of the stock Honda pipes. And silencers too! Saving up to 10kg off the total weight of the bike which for a road track bike is quite considerable. Weight savings on MX bikes is good, but stock pipes generally aren't too heavy. The only problem Paul and I thought about was the fact these hand welded pipes would be more prone to splitting compared to FMF or PC pipes. And more difficult to repair. But they look good! Definitely want a pipe guard though.

what do you mean by 'splitting'? if they are tig'ed then wouldnt that be a better fusion than what FMF is doing, brazing?

Well I'm no boiler maker but from an engineering standpoint I'd expect the welds to fail before the metal tears. And the Tyga pipes have significantly more welds on all areas where impacts might take place. And my point was that the pipes won't split all the time (probably just get dented like normal) but compared to an FMF pipe it would have a higher chance to split with a big enough impact. I'd say they're gonna be more expensive than FMF and PC, but far cheaper than Scalvini. All I know is I'll be ordering one for my CR125 when they come out!

^^^ Woohoo Love the 80 and 81 model's, someone took very good care from what I see, throw a set of fork boots on and go for the 80's tank graphics, that's just my opinion, and congrats on a great bike.

Nice! Would love to spin some laps in the vintage class on one of these!

Thanks guys. I had posted pics in the old school forum but knew it wouldn't be official until I posted it in the official kick ass two stroke thread. I think I will go with the 80 graphics. My dad had a set of the 81 graphics laying around and we just taped them there to see what it would look like. It is in amazing shape. He basically restored everything except the rear shock. It just kind of needs a once over to make sure everything is tight and it will be good to go. I can't wait to race it.
