He had excellent NHL career. Fast, smart player. Tough enough for the NHL, just a good guy. Believe me I am no European hockey nut. I like Canadian hockey players. When I see guys like Selanne, Forsberg, Salming, Chara, etc. They have my respect. Cool Shocked Woohoo

Love it!! That is what hockey like. Don't take no crap from no one. Chara is really old school hockey player.

If you look up durability in the dictionary they should have a picture of Selane.
He was such a gracious player.
Never seemed to caught up in the fame.
He had a buddy who's kid was playing roller hockey in Laverne California (we are talking 8 year old beginner level hockey) and Teemu would come out and sit in the stands with the rest of us parents and watch his friends kid.
He was so low key most people never recognized him and the few of us who did never bothered him.
Twenty years later a friend of mine went to his first Hockey game.
This was at the outdoor LA game.
I asked how he liked it and he said it was fantastic.
They had a player meet and greet after warmups but the line was so long to get on the ice that all of the players were heading to the lockers and were skating past the people who had been waiting, except one.
He said this guy number 8 made a point to shake everyone's hand and pose for pictures,
Said it turned out the guy was a pretty good player too!

Don't want to take anything away from The Finnish Flash but it's nice with a hockey thread going on in non-moto. Chara played a season in the Swedish Hockey League during a lock-out. It was beautiful to see him put all the cocky players in place that never ever is going to make it to the NHL.

Teem has a restaurant in the L.A. Area. He has a few guys like Getzlaf, Perry, and others show up regularly. Since Getz is a prairieboy, next time I am in L.A. Area I will check it out. Laughing Tongue
