I never really venture into the non-moto section, so I didn't see this until today.

I am so sorry for your loss and commend you for hanging onto his bike and riding it for him. I would hope that my dad would do the same for me.

It's certainly still tough, but instead of breaking down multiple times a day it only happens every couple of days now. I still wander around with a huge hole in my life and after thinking I had life all figured out before this happened, realizing now that I have no idea what it's about. So basically at this point I'm just keeping on, but for no other reason than I don't know what else to do.

keep on keeping on..... while stuff never makes sense , time can be a great healer, and you get to appreciate what you enjoyed . You never forget, but the acceptance that comes over time makes each day a tiny bit easier than the last.

This thread brought tears to my eyes and pain in my heart. I'll pray for you and hope that life, God, the universe or whatever's in control will put some hope and light in your future days. I have known some people that have lost children and parents to unspeakable tragedies. I know these days, past the immediate aftermath can be harder than any other time. I can promise you friend, time WILL help to heal the wounds IF you let it. Life can be unbelievably cruel, and oftentimes without explanation. Life has given you a tough cross to bear, but I swear that given some time, it will get easier, it really really will man. I wish I could say something better. I'll have you in some serious prayers, you can count on it.

The pain never goes away but you learn how to handle it.
I lost my Dad very suddenly when I was 21, He was my best friend. We talked every night over the phone as I spent my last two years going to school in Portland. I opted out of coming home to finish school faster and I regret I didn't get the summer time with him every day, riding dirtbikes, watching movies.

Its been Two years now and every day it still hurts, I cry a lot less. Like you said, it went from breaking down every hour, to every other day. And thats the pattern I still have, nothing can fill the hole but in all honesty, I think I enjoy missing him because always keeps him in my heart and mind.

I hope you're doing well, I couldn't imagine losing my dad but I certainly couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose a son.

Just finished loading up the trailer and headed to Indiana for a race weekend. I hung a big picture in the trailer of Chris on the podium with his sister, parents and grandparents behind him with his big first place check. Pretty rough morning but he's coming along with me.

Finally got my son's headstone in place a couple of days ago. They're also putting in a memorial for him at Gateway International. I'll try and get pictures of both up as soon as I get some good shots. We're going to see the memorial on Friday.

It's my daughter's birthday, which means it's also 1 year since she lost her brother. A little after noon central will be exactly 1 year.
