Has anyone fallen flat on their back while wearing a neck brace? Doesn't that kind of a fall shove the neck brace into the back of your neck? Especially with the braces that have that long protruding plastic flap in the back as shown:

I was testing out an Atlas neck brace at a store and i tried lying flat on my back . You can already feel the hard plastic applying pressure to your neck. The flap on the atlas brace back area seems shorter than usual too.
And what if you fell into a sliding position. Wouldn't that drag the neck brace towards the top of your head or cantilever it into your jaw (if sliding the other way?)
Wouldn't it make more sense to make the back area more like the humps on those race suits:

Seems like that would at least prevent the dragging issue.
I noticed this neck brace from europe when researching:

Anyone tried this. Looks like it's made of a foam like material instead of hard plastic. Maybe this might also help dampen the kind of thing I'm worried about?

I've definitely landed flat on my back from looping out, or rolled onto my back many times. Definitely a lot more than I've scorpioned myself.
I'm suprised it's so uncommon.
To echo tmauto769's point, I can't remember ever falling on my back in a moto crash. I can remember sliding on my back in a couple of mountain bike crashes, however.
Notice how the atlas brace is not even sticking out as far back as other neck braces:

There's some neck braces that have chest straps. Maybe that would keep it away from your neck.

Wonder if it's just about having the neck brace tight against the body.
