Just a question as to why none of the amecan riders have shown much interest in chads reeds series down under as it would be a great way for teams to get bike prep and practice at full race pace?

At the end of a long season of the Nationals this would be the only time they get to rest before the SX season starts.I think most guys would rather be at home testing and resting.

$$ true, rest and testing ? it is not a long serious well not yet so still plenty of down time and once there is a couple more US riders come over the interest and $$ will then increase with exposure and backing. testing on a test track in the us may be easier but now aus has roughly same sized tracks they can get race pace set ups dialled not cutting laps at test track, which in turn would creat a more exciting and interestin ama series with the bikes dialled from the get go and not getting it right half way through the series when it could be all to late

Tell ya what, you do a full season of SX then the Nationals then see if you feel like travelling to the other side of the world to do more racing in a series that means nothing in the overall scheme of things.Add to that the fact that they might get injured for there upcoming season. These guys I would think have contracts that state exactly what events they will ride in.I would think it Aussies should expect old guys that have finished there careers[like MC] or young guys that are real hungry for some experience. By the way testing is how they get there bikes dialled in dont you think? And wouldn't that be easier to do closer to there own facilities?

well i would love to have the ability and talent to do a full race series then go to the other side of the country and do another. the only reason it doesnt mean anything yet, is it has only just started and they cant be bothered comin over yet, wait till the money gets bigger and there is more exposure and support then they will be lining up and will get shity cause they will then only be able to except so many overseas entrants to still give the aussie guys there spots in their series. and another thing james stewart kevin windham chad reed (his series tho) they are the top 3 as is now so wat they doing through the nationals? Nothing, maybe a guest ride here and there at a couple of nationals why not come down under try to help the sport grow around the world and if they good enough to beat one or the other make some extra coin(not they need it) with the 6 months off they have cause they now only sx riders and there will be more and more riders now negotiating sx only deals, i never said anything bout not testing i said testing at race pace in race situation would be more beneficial than cutting laps at a practice track with 2 maybe 3 guys, and they not even riding together either.

It would provide great racing in oz and the local guys would up their game just like last year when Reed raced at Raymond Terrace. That made Reardon go as hard as he could and they both pulled 40 seconds over 3rd place (unfortunately Hurley)

Fingers crossed they get some more funding for next year to expand it further. Would be great to see a trans-tasman series goin on here.. bring back Byrner, Metty, Coops, Townley.. have a couple rounds in NZ. Could be a very solid southern hemi mx/sx advancement which is long over due. Lookin forward to Geelong this week, will try post up some pics after the weekend.

I believe that is the plan.

There are some Asian rounds in the planning also in the coming years.

I would guess with more and more US riders goin SX only it won't be too long before they start venturing down here to use this series as prep for the AMA series.

There is no better preperation than race conditions.
