Hi guys,
Im just new to vital so i hope i do this right but i have a question for all.
Im restoring a 89 Rm250 and have always been a big fan of pro circuit products but they don't make pipe and muffler combos for the 89 model, what i was wondering if anyone knows if 1990 Rm250 pipe and muffler combo will fit?
Im sure they both use the same cylinder, i know the 89 has a mount that comes off the frame above the kick starter that changes postition on the 90 but that doest bother me to much.
Cheers peeps

Did you call pro circuit to find out they don't offer the pipe for the 89 model? Where did you get that info? I've heard they will make pipes special order. If anything, maybe you can send them your stock pipe so they can replicate the mounting points.
Post some pics of your bike.
Making pipes special order is a mixed proposition. I've only heard of one guy here getting a special order pipe, everyone else who has tried has been told not available, or, you need to buy a run of the pipes for PC to do it. I'd say on a bike 25 years old that is not a Honda, a special order pipe is not going to be cheap or easy. And sending PC a pipe from Australia to use as a go-by isn't going to be gentle on shipping costs I would guess.
>I think I ran a PC silencer on a stock pipe. That was recommended by Suzuki Country Racing way back when they made really fast bikes. The key bored carb made that bike feel ported. It was a huge difference with just that. I also ran a Stealhy FWW. That was a really good bike for me.
^ This. SCR was very well known at the time for hot RMs. I'd try to duplicate this set-up if this was my bike. PC pipes look cool and all when you can get a raw finish one, but they aren't necessarily better than stock 100% of the time. They are good at moving the powerband around, but not necessarily making better power, esp if the motor hasn't been modded.. Just my .02

Im from OZ so sending my pipe to PC is out of the question.
Cheers
Ive also been told to run a 93-95 RM250 carb on my 89 and that'll also make a huge difference.
Thanks
I know someone that tried a 91 and that didn't fit so fingers crossed a 90 fits..
Pics will be posted when i get a little further into the project..
Cheers
Thanks for your .02.
cheers
Sounds like your project will be a beauty!
No kidding! Wow, I remember them from the old days. AWESOME call, I will definitely be using their pipes on a couple of my bikes. Good stuff and thanks Jack!!
