I'm walking across the Hooter's parking lot and I hear some dude yell, "Hey, are you Steve Bauer?", so I stopped to see what he wanted. Turns out he just wanted a picture with me and said to tell Bobby M that he's a goo-gobbling spermbeard and the Raiders suck, both of which are pretty much common knowledge around here.

By the way, lest anyone's balls be bunching up, I was totally kidding about him yelling my name. Truth is I stalked him like Bobby M honing in on a used "Believe the Hype" t-shirt! Carrol Shelby has been one of my childhood heroes ever since the day my Dad bought a 351 Mach One, instead of the 428 Shelby Cobra my brother and I almost had him talked into buying! It was a real thrill and an honor to run into The Man at the Chili World Championships, right across the street from the MGM Grand. He was the "starter" for the cook-off, saying "Gentlemen, fire up your stoves", or something like that!

Ps. I loved that Mach One...I used to tow my bikes to the races on a 3-rail trailer with it. It was kinda funky, but in retrospect, kinda cool!

This is the rig prillernut and I used when we started.
He also had a Mach 1 but I refused to ride in it with him after he built the motor in it.

Larry, is that a 501? That pic is so friggin cool! Gotta love those Full Bore boots. I think the station wagon was the right choice over the Mach 1...

I pulled my Elsie's to the races a few times behind this:

Still have the car. (It's a 429).

That is a 400 that prillernu bought from Zoe Zappa. Priller is in the process of restoring that same bike.
