I made a post, gently calling into question the decision making process of some of the team managers in this sport but "bro show made up of cliquey dumbasses" is more to-the-point.

Yeah, sure, he's a great asset to a team and the managers don't hire him 'cause they're all stupid...
Truth is the guy is smooth and fast -although very far from delivering stellar results- but he's unpleasant, unreliable and unprofessional in soooooo many ways... If he won enverything, it'd probably be worth dealing with such a major pain in you know what; but it ain't the case. Why bother?
He's basically a leftover who doesn't deliver what he's supposed to, maybe in the end he'll find a leftover deal to ride a leftover bike, but that's about it...

You have only confirmed what Dart Board said. Having someone cool to sit next to and bullshit with in the pits takes priority over results.

It's funny that you're french.
Why do you think Pourcel is sitting at home doing nothing instead of racing the MEC?
Because 95% of the industry can confirm everything I said.

P.S. What results?

The answer to your question is in the last line of dart board's original post. That's why he is sitting at home.

The guy recovered from paralysis and apparently one of the complications from such an injury is the body losing it's ability to internally regulate it's temperature. I don't expect you to understand a single thing I just typed, and it's completely OK if you don't.

So no one cares to hear from the guy who finished in the top 3 anymore?

Then I believe in that case, the problem is the fan base. Which, if this forum is any indicator, is blatantly apparent.

hearing from "the top 3" is like watching paint dry. its PC bullshit. they rattle off their sponsors and sip on their energy drinks....water. go listen to an old hannah post race interview...thats what it should be like.

I think its obvious from this whole thread the guy is misunderstood . If you actually think of cristophes story it is very marketable the guy has endured some tough times and some major hurdles in his career and has got back to being able to win nationals. If your a fan of his or not you should be able to see a gate with him on it is stronger than one without him.

i do agree that he has overcome alot...his injury a few years back was worse than doug henrys. he is an incredible rider without question...compared to his competition i dont think he works as hard and is not very media savy...just my observation. in his defense(like he cares what i think)i dont know him.

Says who? The only two people in this industry who have the right to have an issue with him (Mike Genova and Keith McCarty) both wanted to hire him for 2014. McCarty wanted him to ride for JGR next year but team managers in this sport are idiots. None of them should have a reason to not hire him. His positives far outweigh his negatives but the bro show is made up of cliquey dumbasses.

I would not hire you either (and that is why you are freelance), you must be the guy moanning after your boss all over in the company & on the internet for things you should actually talk about face to face.

Work on yourself before have fun on other's people life. I mainly get you do not like him but it does not mean you can say any B.S. on a forum like you did in France in mx2k, where eventually you have been kicked out.

I would be one of his sponsors you would have a suit on your desk by Monday, since anyone would say the same thing about me I would not watch and sit. Maybe that is why you do not like him, he came to you to get some explanations in the past?

Thanks to you I see the light, I'm gonna start working on my life and try to duplicate Chris' ethics and values, that's ll sure get me a nice situation next to someone like you, can't wait...
Grinning

Man, you made my day.
Funny how our charismatic rider attracts the meanest, most deceptive people around as supporting crew...
(Don't forget to sue me.)
Really wonder how that can be with such a lovely persona.

P.S. Every word I wrote is the exact truth.
And loads of people know it.
That's why he's left out in the cold -if I can say so 'bout Florida.
Why would such a gifted rider be without a ride, otherwise?
Oh yeah, everyone in the industry is damn stupid, I forgot...

I am happy to have made your day so to give you more hope about your future I should clarify a few other points:

Work & ethic: he is a professional racer(s) with multiple wins & titles, ok, he could have done more (with a bit of luck too and he is not really lucky since a few years, i.e. Valli pulling out). But what have you done that is so special to put yourself in a position to give a special bashing about this rider in particular? Why nothing about other riders in that case? I get you do not like him but don't you think it is over the line? What is the full personal story behind?

Vulture behavior: you talked about "lovely persona". Payton or McCarthy would offer him a ride if they really could (so he is not that bad to work with). You are just coming in & saying BS now that is without a ride but I do not see you opening your mouth this summer when he was parading on the yamaha show. So who is the pain in the ass now? A proven rider without a ride or an internet hater who is having fun on an unemployed rider? I guess you were just happy when he broke his back.

Meanest? Yes, why not, I am the most relax guy but as any MX (ex-)rider I am a bad mofo if I get ennoyed and do not hesitate to t-bone. Barcia is the meanest on the track so thanks for the compliment. Sueing? I am not one of his sponsors for now but for sure if I wanted to sign him I would put a clause regarding his internet reputation in his contract Smile Probably that would help the deal so thanks for your role as facilitator Smile

Left out riders (because of this or this)? It is not always because of their reputation, work ethic, etc. "Why would such a gifted rider be without a ride, otherwise?" Ask: Mookie (who was the best pick for team USA before his dehydration), Metcalfe (now and before the US Nationals, whereas everybody know he does good), Weimer (who did not delivered recently but who was capable of podiums in 450 SX - remember when he got pushed several times out of podium contentions?), Hanny & Hill (who were/are both capable of top 6-8), and many many more, i.e. where is Frossard going, is it a factory ride whereas he has just won the MXdN? That is somehow just the way it is, sometimes a bit of luck helps and right now I think they are more great riders than great rides. "P.S. Every word I wrote is the exact truth." You should write BS instead of PS; all the names mentioned above do results, have speed, PR skills, a good fan base and to do results they have a work ethic, a 7 riders team is just missing in the pit.

Marketable? Most real fans of the sport like his style and regularly post good things regarding his ability to ride. Some likes him less, that is fine, I am more a fan of JS7 for his quads or Tomac when he flyes than I am about Dungey, Canard or Millsaps, who are also a great and very respectable guy, I.e. coming from injuries, or the late start in Washougal. It is the just way it is, and to be fair, as soon as I see great actions and great battles, I am stocked whoever it is. CP's contract with Yami did not bother myself to buy 3 450YZF this year whereas financially I am miles away to what I have been working my butt off for. You just think you are better than anyone else but you cannot back up anything with actual facts other than spreading smelly rumors (loads of people know it", well go back to PC & MacCarthy). I guess you respect nothing, lives on frustration and still have a high self esteem, but cary on, it does not work out.
