Sat. racing WTF!! One thing that will change is the numbers at the gate. Get ready for a huge decline in the spectator count. Also, DC did not mentioned anything about payout to the riders. Looks like the riders are going to be racing for free again next yr.

All octopus debates aside:
What they are trying/going to do can't be any worse than whats been going on.

If you don't go to an MX on Saturday because it's on Saturday, you're stupid.

I'm not a racer, just a fan, and I like all the changes so far. We drive ~3.5hrs to the closest National (Budd's) and ~7hrs to the next (High Point). Usually show up just before the 1st moto and leave as the last moto is ending to go grab dinner and head home. Keep 'em coming, DC, you are on a roll so far.

IMO, each track should designate about 200 close parking spots for VIP parking passes sold at a $20 premium to regular parking. Our car would gladly pay it for short walk to the car and a fast path onto the highway. The extra $4,000 could go $100 to 40 privateers or $500 to the 8 highest placing privateers, etc.

Saturday racing allows for an amateur day after the national, because everyone bitched about amateur day before due to it ripping up the track, especially the track builders. A national track is too hairy for amateurs and it is too hard to properly build a pro level national track from an amateur level track in a matter of hours and while in the dark.

Pros race on saturday, amateurs get to race a knocked down version on sunday. It's easier and faster to knock down a pro level track than to build one properly.

and lastly, everyone cries about the privateer's and costs and how much racing costs, this saves privateer's and teams money by reducing hotel and food costs by one day/night and gives teams and privateer's an extra day of travel, making it safer and save gas money by allowing them to drive at a slower pace to the next event.

It also helps the Country by reducing fuel waste and fuel consumption.

Every little bit helps
Absolutely. I don't understand what everyone is so upset about.

Now we have the same schedule year-round.

I'd look for something like the possibility of a Friday night pit party, with a chance to get autographs, etc.

Steve--I'm going to break my own rule!!

I love the fans, mostly because you are some of the most passionate fans of any sport anywhere. I think you go out and buy the products, which supports a huge percentage of the sport. Without you, the fan, racing would go away.

That being said, let me say that the new schedule is so very welcome to the riders (the industry). During Supercross, you travel on Friday, race on Saturday, home on Sunday. That's three days. Outdoors, you travel on Friday, practice on Saturday, race on Sunday, travel on Monday. That's the racers, for the mechanics, truck drivers, ... the schedule is much more brutal. The reality is, it's just much easier to race Supercross. The new schedule will be easier for many to live with. While the fan may feel like he loses, think about the riders, ...they do this every weekend. I think it will be a good change.

That is a big reason why some riders and teams don't or don't want to do the Nationals

It's a lot more money and work for far less ROI
