I also have the CRF 250 cylinder head question listed here so sorry for the multiple posts on the same bike. I have my 2007 CRF 250 engine down with the head sent to millennium tech for inspection.
Here's my other problem. I bought this bike used and have no idea of it's history other than it had some serious change spent on it. Okay I need to order a new piston kit for it but don't know what to order.
Stock bore is 78mm. If I measure the piston that just came out of this engine it measures 81 mm measuring with a dial caliper around the piston skirt. There is no name on the piston or overbore size like you see on car pistons (I've never dealt with an over bore on a dirt bike). Where is the correct place to measure a piston (is the skirt the correct place)?
Here is the only numbers on the piston. Can anyone help me with this,
11001-P01 on one side and on the opposite is
1597E
These are listed on top of the piston.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gerald
