I started out yesterday 100% cash and was fully invested by 3:30. I will either be a hero or a zero.

Futures were nuts all morning. Dow was up 111 when I left to get coffee. 10 minutes later when I get back it's down 15. I trade the major indexes and there is no direction at all today. I think I'll go hang a couple of doors today and make a few buck the old fashioned way.

Little pop this morning and then back down. I was counting on a little bit more, my other 2 have flatlined from yesterday.

Not a bad idea! I need to do the same thing and give my nerves a rest for a few days.

I've been buying as it has been dropping. I'll make it back huge in a couple of months.

Fools. Read carefully and take notes, obviously you dont read my posts. Bailout = Drop in stocks. Bernanke said the bailout will extend to Main St...kapow..Dow ends 500 and getting close to 9000. Those of you who are buying on the way down, please remember the dot com crash. You've got a ways to go yet, some of these companies will go bust and disapear. My next target is 8500...enroute to possible 5000..

As long as you're prepared to wait years, it's a solid plan. Months may not cut it.

I don't think the Dow will hit 5000, but I expect high 8's by the end of October. And then I think it will just kind of meander along for a while, kind of stagnating there.........for months. Then, just when it might start recovering.........all of the Obama Administration's social engineering policies, and the advent of the new welfare state will hit it...........and it'll tank again.

Dow 8600 by the end of a tumultuous week.
Nasdaq 1675

Fed rate cut priced into market already. Bump on news, down on day when announced.

Revised prediction next week.

There is always money to be made in the stock market. I have made more in the last 6 months than I ever have but I also have been on top of it every day- can't just "buy and hold" in this market have to keep your finger on the pulse and scan all sectors daily to identify stocks that have potential to swing back and forth.

Also helps to have sufficient capital to take advantage of opportunities.

If you could short stocks, now would be a great time to do it. It's gonna be awhile until they figure out how to prop up the house of cards.

Financial short ban is up I think Thursday. I would not have the balls to short financials, they already have been beaten to ridiculous levels and are poised to rebound.

Could be. I'm not messing with it this round. Besides, I never set myself up to short stocks.

You think the financials hit bottom? Possible. I'm not looking at the numbers. I grabbed my coin awhile back and locked it down. It's sitting there collecting dust.

What's your take on the effect of company stocks? I was talking more in terms about those, not financials.

I don't think we have hit bottom, no. I do think we are due for a rally in financials may be a suckers rally but suckers make money too Smile

And yes, there is some money to be made shorting as always.

I think there are some great deals out there right now both for the short and long term upsides.

Nothing wrong with money collecting dust, it will be there when/if you need it. I have some of that stashed away too.

I never trade with money that would affect my family if I lost it all.

Its not hit bottom by a long shot yet...I dont have the nerve or excess dollars to throw away or the time to fiddle with day trading in stocks, its pure gambling unless you are super clued in...Forex is a sinch if you know how to read the waves, 8k in the past 24hrs from a 10k hand, the DOW can sink to 4000, I dont care, there will always be forex to trade. In one month I've taken 10k from the bank which was getting $60/mnth interest, on forex I've made 110% in the past 4 weeks.

You all need to watch the greenback, its WAY too strong, the yen too. Excellent time to get some Euros. Wink

You missed the Aussie bottoming at 65 about an hour ago..dropping from 71 over a 5 hour period.

BDOG.. the short sell ban expires on the 17th, on a friday. Prudence would suggest checking the short sell list for a ticker you are buying before pulling the trigger. In this market things can continue to go down for a while. I'm also of the opinion we will hit low 9's or mid 8's until things stop decellerating. The major players are getting liquidity back via sell-offs.

You can expect volatility when the short ban expires, bigger bounces and bigger drops, until next friday you'll see every market drift lower and lower. In time you'll see 5000 looming large. Feds are so fucking clueless is alarming. You all noticed Bernanke said yesterday they'll bailout regular companies now?...hope you guys have a job next week.

I almost laughed the other day when I heard mr potato head talking about selling off whatever money you need for the next 5 years. Mark that one down on the crash of 2008 timeline.
