But as it seems, that like you, I'm looking to have a bike to ride (1991 CR500 in process) .... and store the nice KX-princess to keep scratches away ........
regards Thomas
Looks really really nice! You should make a build thread on it here!
I love to see restorations pictures and read about them
Yeah, when you invest so much time and Money into a build, it is really difficult to take it out and use it.
A 91' CR500 sounds like a perfect ride bike
Thanks for honoring the work. Going back to the roots seems to be a factor for a lot of riders & friends (if you scroll down the kx - link - gallerys to 1989 - there are some friends projects ...).
I was set on fire for a CR when we visited mxworldmuseum in Vimmerby SE
then back at home I found the good running CR500-91
frame is stripped, engine looks good, suspension - maybe I have to ask you for the "steam- length-washer-bushing-conversation" .... regards Thomas
Do you have any connections to Sweden?
Looks like a great CR500 you have going as a ride bike. Keep us updated on the build of both bikes.
I was thinking about going to the museum in Sweden this winter, looks like they have a great collection of bikes there.
Too bad they dont know how to route the front brake line on the 1990 CR250 .... ;-)
So glad you liked Norway. Looks like you had a great time, Guess that Picture was taken in Geirangerfjorden?
On my conversion I used the complete triple clamp with stem (and forks) from a 2008 CRF450R.
I got a Fork Conversion kit from All Balls racing.
You can see the page here:All Balls Racing Fork conversion kits
It was New stearing head bearings With races and the shims needed .
Best regards from Norway

Oh, I checked Allballs , thanks but they cannot cure the Kx450 - Cr500 problem.
I think a custom steam will save that all. Stay tuned. Kind regards Thomas
Thanks for the kind Words. The Peak/Pro Circuit Graphics I got from a cool dude in Germany.
I think it pops up on ebay from time to time.
I have a set I have had as a spare that I might put up for sale someday, but it wont be cheap as they are hard to come by...
And I live in Norway so shipping would be really expensive...
Cool bike you have for a restore. You can do a lot of cool replicas with that, and for me those bikes were some of the coolest looking and sweet bikes Honda built in that era.
Some shots of my bike from this week
Thanks for the quick reply brother i appreciate it, well if u were to decide to sell your other set, i would be 100% interested , hahah cause now u have me on the hunt for it, i am willing to pay whatever it is that you may want for them, shipping too but if u decided against selling them and could put me in touch with the gentleman from germany that u used would be greatly appreciated, email me at Boston.inktherapy@gmail.com

Hello.
Glad my build has been an inspiration for your build!
Is it the Item 21 in this picture you have broken?

I take it you are on Facebook, try this group and see if someone can have it.

Nice bike!
Where in Sweden are you located?
I'm from Karlstad.
Have an evo cr125 I'm gonna build when my other bikes are complete..
Ikke fra Sverige, men fra Norge.
Not from Sweden, but from Norway
Thanks for the kind words.
What year CR125 do you have? Planning on riding EVO class with it?
Not too far from me
It's a 1990. (Bought it as a 94, checked out the vin and its a 90 with 94 tank. Missing engine for it tough.
Yeah when it's finished I plan on doing some EVO races with it, and maybe some in the uk with a "holiday" vibe.
Have you ever ridden at magnor? That's a fun track.. hasn't been there since they re-did and changed direction last year.
Bought an Öhlins fork somewhere outside Oslo from a guy, don't remember his name.. but we met at a really cool track, that I also don't remember the name of. I went past gardermoen and probably 50-80km more, had a huge track and a big kids track also, down in a valley I think.. that one looked awesome!
No, have not rode at Magnor for several years, so I cant say I have.
Sounds like a great holiday to go ride in the UK!
I was hoping to do some EVO racing, or rather Super EVO with my 95 CR250, but my last knee injury put a stop to those plans, so now only putting around, but still enjoying it.
When I'm finished, we can go together and make those uk bikes look bad compared to our Nordic ones
I have had knee surgery also, 6 screws (tibia fracture) but i still try to haul ass on the track
Finally got my hands on a VRP Aluminium Tank for my bike!
Greg.
