The number 100

Edited Date/Time 7/18/2014 10:16am
Is there an unspoken rule about the number 100? I heard someone say they wouldn't dare run it. Is there a reason why?

Well I'm sorry guys *hands in the air* haha I was just under the impression that there was an unspoken rule about the number. I thought he raced a different number.

He had a few. I think 204, 93, and 68 on YOT, and then I think 100 from there on...

Might you be thinking of 911? Some superstitious folk may avoid such number.

IIRC, Mike Kiedrowski also ran it on a CR when he was trying a come-back...late 90s or so.

If you like it, I'd say run it...you're obviously in some pretty fast company ^^^

There originally was an unwritten rule about using the number 100, you were supposed to have been a former National Champ who would have had the number 1 plate but then missed a season so you did not earn a top 99 number for the current season. They would then allow you to use the 100.
They must have changed something about the rule because the last couple of riders using it have not been National Champs...maybe have been regional 125 or 250f Champs with nobody legitimately claiming the number.
