They described it in detail this morning. Evidently, they were swapping bikes, and Contador got about 500 meters up the road, and pulled back off. In a scramble to get back up to him, they had a fender-bender with the Belkin team car, and that is where the frame got broke.
I believe that. I have a carbon road and mtn bike, and those things are TOUGH.
I'm waiting for Porte to blast off on a long climb like his teammate Froome would have inevitably done. It'll be interesting to see if he can pull back enough time on Nibali before the TT.

The last climb is HC and believe they said 23 miles long.
Nibali's righthand man just hit a water bottle at 50 mph in a turn and slid a long ways on his side.
He is serious covered in rash,got up,swap bikes and the team and movistar team held up to wait on him.

Reto Hollenstein crashes in the first few kilometers of yesterday's stage and breaks a rib which punctures one of his lungs. After waiting for about five min's for medical help (which does not come) instead of getting a regular ambulance to hospital he gets back on his bike and finishes the stage. That stage is the longest of the tour at 237.5 ks! and contained two cat 4 climbs, a cat three, a cat 2 and finished after climbing and the descending an hors category climb.
Unbelievable! and if you saw it in a hollywood movie you'd laugh at the writers for coming up with something so far fetched.
The team manager ,he crashed into a tree and broke a hip ,didn't he get caught doing a transfusion in his room?
And,the 30/30 slaying the badger,that was great.
I'm lucky enough to be rocking a 2014 S-Works Tarmac that I built up this winter...It's seriously fucking bad ass. I will say this though, for a customer who doesn't have the advantage of employee-level pricing, the Tarmac Expert has a ton of bang for the buck. My friend who owns the shop was out in Cali last week for the 2015 dealer event, and he had a chance to ride the 2015 S-Works Di2 disc Tarmac. He said it was sweet, but out here we don't have any real descending so it's not a huge advantage for us.
