1/4 of the season is over. How's your team doing?
Dodgers are laying back like California Chrome, waiting to pounce down the final stretch. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

HA! We shall see....

The Nats are battling in a very close NL east. Game and half back behind the Braves but the kicker is that the entire division is just a 5 game spread...

Long way to go!!!

In other news, the ACC tourney just started in Greensboro, NC yesterday and we's pulling for UVA baby!!

Haven't figured the Cards out yet. If Wainwright could pitch every day we could have a spot in the World Series reserved now. But could easily bee a 500 season for them this year.

The Mariners .500 and seem to be much better than they have been over the last several years. They have two of the best pitchers in the MLB the best second baseman a very good third baseman and a whole bunch youngsters we are hoping will live up to their potential. They are interesting which hasn't been the case in quite a while.

The Braves are wearing Teheran out. Finally scoring some runs though. Pulling for the Giants too. Bumgardner is a local boy.

Royals are a .500 team and will most likely finish the year at 3rd place in the Central. I've learned to not expect any more than that from them and am happy if they just remain competitive at .500.

July 9th and there is not one one division where #2 is more than 4.5 games back.

Out of 30 teams it looks like 9 have basically no chance for a playoff spot. Keep an eye on the teams with the good pitching. They usually pull away late in the season. Especially if they have a coupe of guys that get hot with the bat.
It sure seems like the all star break is late this year. Prolly just me.

The halfway point was last week. It is a week later this year and I think the season started on April 1'st which is a few days early. Mariners are still hangin tough despite streaky bats.

Seattle has tough row to hoe to get a wild card. They have the pitching but low hitting stats. The Angels pitching is not quite as good but they have tons of sock. You get a couple of guys to get hot and it's a race for 2nd.

The Angels are starting to pull away a bit but I am not too concerned about them (unless Weaver is injured they will probably get the 1st wildcard) The 2nd wild card changes the dynamics so unless somebody surges I think the M's are the best of the rest. (at least for now).
