As a rule of thumb the race sag should be between 100 and 105 mm. The bigger issue is after setting the proper race sag is to measure the static or free sag. That will tell you if your are sprung correctly. If that number is too big then the suspension will feel harsh and loose traction on acceleration and in stutter bumps. That number should be about 25mm.

Isnt the way you get race sag is by measuring static measurment and then your weight on bike. & take the difference?

No, race sag is the difference between the laden and unladen (on a stand, wheels off the ground) measurements.

What Paw Paw is referring to is the static sag. Too much indicates the spring is too stiff; too little means it's too soft. The rule of thumb I've seen is it needs to be in the 25-35mm range.

But remember, so much of suspension is personal preference, so don't get stuck on a number as being written stone. Use it as a guideline and experiment to learn what you like and don't like (and how the changes affect the performance).
