I just wanted to say hats off to Sunset Ridge MX for running the best regional we have ever attended. Those guys know how to run a race. The track was always in great shape, they knew when to water and how much to put out. The facility is top notch, from announcing to concession stand they had it covered. Man did they get through the motos. We ran all the first and second motos on Saturday. That's right they went through 12 Practice Sessions, 28 Moto 1's and Heats, 8 LCQ's, and 18 second motos all on Saturday and had daylight to spare. Had all the third moto's wrapped up around 12:30 on Sunday and had everyone on the road. Great job by these guys. With all the negative posts going on I just felt like it was time to brag on a great facility for doing things the right way.

Thanks for the compliments CL.
I was announcing with my bud Noah and all weekend we heard nothing but compliments about the track, facility and how awesome the place is ran.
I did the ATV nat there a few weeks earlier and saw how awesome the Pistole family is and how hard they AND they're crew work.
Chad has great mentors in his father and Tim Ritchie from Red Bud and you can hear the similarities when he's talking on the track radio.
Hopefully they will get more big events in the future too, but they also need to be spread around the region so who knows.
Glad you had a good time and the rain held off, the weather was warm, but close to perfect all weekend.

you guys did a great job on the mic. When you said we were going to get all the second motos in, I was like no way, but they did it with ease. Track was great, we will be back there again for sure. Nice area to, Rock Falls was a nice place to stay.

This is my Daughters favorite track (qualified for Loretta's there in '06).
A really fun and safe place to race.
It has things that will separate racers (a safer, slower or faster more aggressive way around).
A really nice family friendly place.

This was our first time there and it was a great experience. The track was awesome. (A little gnarly for our pw) I would love to see the B and A class ride there. The Youth riders were hauling butt. The guys running the gates did an excellent job with the little kids making sure to give a "fist bump" to every rider before their motos. I don't think I've been to a Regional where we got all the motos in by 12:30 on Sunday. That sure made the 8 hour drive home better. Great job to the track crew!

Walnut (Sunset Ridge) is great!
For us, another super track, Millville, is a bit easier to get to.
We can't wait to get to Red Bud again in a couple of weeks! We love that place, too!

I absolutely love that place. One of my favorite tracks. Only problem, it is 12 hours away. Never raced there but rode once on a practice day.
I went up to Iowa in 2012 to pick up a bike. We left NC at 4pm on Friday, drove straight through the night and picked up the bike a 6am in Iowa. There was 3 of us. We traded off a bit. Looking for a place to ride on the way back south we hit Sunset Ridge that Saturday. Great dirt, great flow awesome place, lady even gave us a discount 'cause we had true southern accent! We left completely exhausted and the 2 with me were out cold before we could get on the highway, I drove as far as I could I started yelling to get someone up to swap before I fell asleep at the wheel. No response at all. I pulled in a restaurant and laid the seat back, left the van running and crashed. Must of been about 2 hours later I wake up and there is a whole group of people standing in front of the van looking in. LIke "are these guys all right? Should we call somebody?"

Track was awsome all day everyday. Im 5 hours away and it sure was nice to be home by 6 on sunday.

The Pistol family and there crew kick ass!

Happy to say the "Death rumors" are false.
Glad to hear you are still out there doing what you love.
And LMXP was the first place Katie ever raced, and where she first raced EVERY displacement motorcycle she ever raced.
And she loves you guys!
